Welcome to the all-new All-Inclusive Era
Think you know all-inclusives? Think again. From farm-to-table fine dining to sound-bath sessions, a new level of luxury is on offer—and attracting a whole new Gen Z audience
Chances are, your idea of what an all-inclusive vacation looks like is undergoing a revamp—or it will soon. Where once, all-inclusive meant more limited options throughout your trip, now a new range of resorts is completely redefining the no-hidden-extras hotel experience. It’s in with sophisticated dining, lifestyle and cultural options; out with bland design and compromised amenities.
This glow-up has been driven in part by well-traveled, financially savvy younger consumers who won’t tolerate lower standards in exchange for nothing-to-think-about convenience. They also expect all-inclusives to suit different types of trips and destinations, rather than offering a uniform experience with every stay.
Recent data shows the makeover is working: In 2024, Hotels.com tracked a 60% increase in global searches using the “all-inclusive” filter versus 2023 figures; while one in three Gen Z travelers say their perception of all-inclusive hotels has changed for the better in the past 12 months.
Over the same period, use of the #allinclusive hashtag has mushroomed on TikTok in the U.S.; within the last two years, it has been used across 34,000 posts and secured more than 538 million views. Major hospitality groups have noticed too: Marriott and Hyatt are rolling out fresh all-inclusive concepts, with W Hotels among the upmarket brands entering the market for the first time in 2025.

Izla Beach Front Hotel, Isla Mujeres, Mexico
Relaxation is the name of the game at this self-contained and well-priced resort: simply set up under a beach umbrella, kick back by the pool, or grab a cocktail at one of the two bars. Travelers with more energy can use the on-site gym or explore the nearby Punta Nizuc National Park—but with unlimited blue seas and skies, and Mexican Carribbean-fusion dining at the hotel’s two restaurants on offer, it may be hard to persuade you to join them.
Book nowFor peak adventure
Sensoria Dolomites, Italy
As its name indicates, this high-end resport occupies a prime position in one of the most spectacular mountainous regions of Italy. Summer stays allow for wildflower hiking and leisurely e-biking; winter visits are perfect for snowshoe romps and skiing. Whenever you stay, the kitchen’s emphasis on exceptional and revitalizing regional produce means you can indulge wholeheartedly and still feel healthy.
Book nowFor private-island thrills
Jumby Bay Island, Antigua
Part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, this exceptionally fancy private-island hideaway proves that the all-inclusive concept even works for resorts delivering all-out luxury. Sure, it might feel like a splurge, but guests enjoy a “fully inclusive” experience that extends from fine dining and drinking (think Dover sole with Jerusalem artichoke, and Caribbean rum tastings) to wellness and sports sessions, covering everything from sound bath meditations to water sports.
Book nowFor an eco-luxe safari experience
Oase by 7 Star Lodges, South Africa
On its own private reserve, this intimate, six-suite safari retreat wows with memorable dining experiences, but is also marked out by its eco principles (the hotel is solar-powered with water drawn from boreholes) and a more leisurely approach than many strictly regimented safari holidays. While the moonlight bush picnics and riverside location are unforgettable, it’s the lodge’s game drives that guests typically find most awe-inspiring. Keep an eye out for impala, zebra, giraffes, and gorgeous birds galore.
