What’s the vibe? Super-chill and very easy on the eye, this is a hotel to retreat to after a hard day trawling flea markets and pounding gallery floors. Everything here is about cocooning in comfort, from the muted pastels and soft lighting to the plush rug and squashy corner daybed. On which point, there’s no desk: Business travelers, take your always-on work ethic elsewhere.

The Instagram moment: Who didn’t dream of having a swing in their bedroom as a kid? And this one is a circular-framed, steel-and-leather designer creation with a bolster that doubles as a blanket. Downside: If you actually bring a kid here, you’ll never get a go on it.
Talk to me about the bed… Four-poster, super-king size (that’s between a US queen and king), with fresh white linens, and plenty of plump pillows.

…And the bathroom? Oh, but the bathroom… There’s a double-width sink, for avoidance of rows. There’s a bath and a shower. And there are locally made, coffee-based Terre de Mars products, which are organic, vegan, cruelty-free, but mainly just smell delish.
Any swag? A super-cute tote is there for the taking—the floral illustration is in keeping with the aesthetic of artist and proprietor Olivier Breuil, whose family has owned the hotel for three generations. (Read: He knows what he’s doing.) Also in the room on request (alas, not for the taking) is your very own pink yoga mat (matching the staff’s Lacoste polo shirts), and a chess/backgammon table for friendly competitions.

I’m starving… Free macarons await you on arrival in your room. Also appreciated: the gâteau du jour, a help-yourself situation in the bar each afternoon just when you need a sugar hit. Plus, three words: All. Day. Breakfast. Find it in the lounge any time of day or night, or call room service which will deliver up to 11pm. Jet-lagged? The in-room Nespresso has compostable Terre de Café capsules, for guilt-free caffeination.
The best bit: The clue is in the name: You get your own private terrace, lined with plants and screened for privacy.

Should I bring the kids? They’re not just welcome, but actively catered for: The lounge-style in-house cinema will lay on kids’ films with candy and ice cream, by arrangement.
And if I can drag myself out…? Grab the free insider’s guide to “Slow Paris” and head out on foot—you’re in the 8th arrondissement (ie super-central), between the boutiques of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the Champs-Élysées, and an easy walk from all the major sights.
