Searching for the very best hotels with rooftop pools? Right this way… After all, no matter how experienced a traveler you are, the very sight of a rooftop pool immediately switches you into vacation mode. Whether you’re settling into a lounger and ordering up a cocktail, carving your way through the lengths as the sun comes up, or idly floating and watching the city pass by below you, these are the ideal spots for a bit of warm-water therapy on your next hotel break.
Mr. C Miami – Coconut Grove, FL
On Mr. C’s rooftop you’ll find some of the city’s favorite cabanas. Accommodating up to five and stocked with drinks, a series of these chic mini-retreats line one side of the pool. The loungers are just as lovely, shaded by colorful parasols and ideally placed to take in ocean views from Biscayne Bay to South Beach. Whiling away a day here comes effortlessly: The Italianate menu features everything from refreshing salads and classic Aperol spritzes to pizzas and the creamiest gelato.
Book nowVilla Copenhagen, Denmark
Formerly the head office of the Danish Post and Telegraph and relaunched as a hotel in 2020, Villa Copenhagen’s imposing neo-baroque edifice has long been familiar to locals, while its top floor now holds one of the only outdoor pools to be found in this chilly city. Thankfully, it’s heated (sustainably, as it redeploys excess energy from the hotel) and at 82 feet (25 meters) long, it’s roomy enough for invigorating laps. Afterwards, guests can jump into the adjoining sauna.
Book nowCity Centro by Marriott, Mexico City
Hidden away in the heart of Mexico City’s Centro Histórico, City Centro is a design-focused hotel with a wealth of Instagram-worthy details. But the standout has to be its rooftop pool—heated, cactus-lined and made from marble, it offers views across the city and its landmarks, including the iconic Torre Latinoamericana. Cocktails can be delivered while you lounge in the water.
Book now137 Pillars Residences, Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok’s bustle is far removed from 137 Pillars’ two dramatic pools, both pitched well above the clamor of the city. While the larger crowns a lower tier of this soaring skyscraper in the lively Sukhumvit district, the smaller is even more spectacular, exclusively accessible to suite guests and perched at the peak of this 443-foot (135-meter) tower. A celestial setting from which to admire the City of Angels.
Book nowHotel Fasano, Rio de Janeiro
Rio is revealed in its full splendor from Hotel Fasano’s rooftop infinity pool, where the seafront vista extends from the custard-colored sands of Arpoador and Ipanema beaches all the way to the towering Dois Irmãaos mountain. It’s especially hard to pull away from that panorama when enjoying caipirinhas from the pool bar at sunset, but this being one of Brazil’s most stylish hotels, the fabulous outfits you see around the pool offer an equally eye-catching view.
