Lovely hotel, rude staff
Amazing clean room with good blackout drapes, lighting options, comfortable beds and lovely amenities - including a sauna and hot pool. Staff is extremely unhelpful to foreigners who need assistance. I wouldn’t pick the location again- although close to Kyoto station, the station itself is such a maze it would have been easier to get around if we had stayed in another neighborhood.

Impeccably clean with great perks, poor service
Lovely modern hotel with Comfortable beds and thoughtful touches like coffee/tea service and a way to monitor laundry from your room. Excellent spa that is closed for most of the morning and afternoon for no apparent reason. The rooms are well sized and functional, but have no storage space. Unfortunately, the staff is rude from a western perspective. They also won’t help with dinner reservations- which is just crazy for a hotel in a city that requires reservations at many restaurants and who deals with international travelers. It’s really a shame the service didn’t match the pristine quality of the hotel. If you’re placed facing the front of the building, you will be woken up by a congregation of birds early. It’s worth mentioning since it looks like a horror movie.

Awesome Stay!
Excellent room. Seemed larger than other Japanese hotel rooms in which I've previously stayed. The bathroom/shower was very nice. Hotel is in a convenient spot at the foot steps of Kyoto station.

Incredibly Positive Hotel Experience
My wife and I travel quite a lot and usually we find that there are at least a few small things that can be improved upon but this hotel leaves me stumped! Great location within 5 minutes walk from Kyoto train station, the major transportation hub. Check in was quick, efficient, welcoming. Hotel design is very modern and it looked to be newly built. Everything (lobby, room and bath) were super clean and spotless. The beds were extremely comfortable, (mattresses and pillows were more Western style than the typical Japanese). The included buffet style breakfast was quite good, offering a wide range of both Japanese and Western style food items. The juicy steak and delicious salmon were pleasant surprises. The lounge in the lobby, designed to meet other guests and hang out, offered not only extensive local sightseeing information but also complimentary coffee. lattes, and hot chocolate throughout the day. The free WIFI was fast and reliable. One feature that we loved was that the in-house coin operated laundromat was smart wired to your room TV, allowing you to follow the progress of your load on the screen data readout. The combination washer/dryer did a good job cleaning the clothes but then took an inordinate amount of time to dry them. Over-all this property provided a very comfortable and convenient base to explore Kyoto and the nearby Arashiyama area. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Angry Birds
We stayed here and traveled from here to osaka and kobe, instead of moving around from city to city. Everything is great about this place, conveniently located across the street from the main station, great in hotel breakfast option, (a bit pricey but i think its worth it), nicely sized rooms (especially coming from tokyo), across the street from a shopping mall, convenience stores within a block away, (but it seemed like that eveywhere in japan), and great staff who spoke english....BUT! the air conditioning was on instead of the heat in the middle of january. i thought it just took awhile for the room to heat up, i set it on auto and fell asleep, woke up freezing and couldnt figure it out until i went downstairs, the front desk had to shut the ac off and the heat on. Does the staff have to manually turn on the heat for each room at check in? or was my room just the one off? anyway, if you stay here, ask for a room not facing the main road, there are thousands of these noisy birds that perch on the power lines up front, they come back to sleep there around 12 to 2 am every single night and theyre quite loud. also, across the street there is a bus that will take you to osaka airport and drop you right in front of the terminal for about 25 usd per person, in about 40 minutes and will handle your luggage. super convenient. just ask the front desk.

Wonderful stay in Kyoto
Glad that we chose this hotel for our weeklong stay. Virtually across the street from the main train station which allowed for easy day trips from Kyoto. Hotel appears to be virtually brand new. Wonderful staff. Room was very comfortable. Excellent public bath and sauna. Buffet breakfast was very good and of excellent quality although the daily selections never changed and after a few days some new food items would have been welcomed. The waitstaff really did a great job in the very busy restaurant. Laundry facility a big help as well. Great value for the price that we paid at this property.

Beautiful Hotel Great Location
Buffet was yummy, spa was awesome, room was spacious and the shower and in room tub was very nice. Staff in the lobby desk came across not to helpful at times. Overall a wonderful stay and the location to the airport bus and train station with the mall next door was the best.
