The staff was very nice. The lobby was very welcoming, spacious, and accommodating for working on a computer. Very hipster. The rooms were tinier than what folks might not be used to- slightly bigger than a cruise ship room. The windows don’t keep the sound out at all, so you’ll hear all the good/bad/ugly of the neighborhood at all hours throughout the night and into the morning. I recommend using an ambient noise machine on your phone. Walking distance from the train station. The area has a large number of homeless folks. They generally don’t bother pedestrians, but be advised that they frequently obstruct the walkways, harass each other, and leave drug paraphernalia everywhere. This has little to do with the hotel’s competent, friendly staff, but deserves mentioning for those tourists interested in walking/biking around the neighborhood.

    Retro cool

Great location in the hopping Pearl District; expect some noise. Hotel has a retro look and feel, but also shows some actual retro-ness in a bit of wear and tear. Small rooms (even the larger ones). Fantastic rooftop taco bar, although it's a bit pricey.

Internet stated all amenities and restaurants were open. When we arrived, in fact everything was shut down. Not because of COVID, but because of staff shortages. The hotel fee also included a $34 resort fee. There is no resort. The only amenity was a coffee shop. As a side note, Parking is several blocks away and unless you drive a junker is unsafe. Homeless camps everywhere. However, the person checking me in allowed me to cancel reservation without a fee and she gave me a referral to another hotel which she believed was open.

The hotel was very nice with excellent staff! Our room was small with a view over the AC units. The location in China Town/Old Town was not ideal due to the large homeless population, but we always felt safe. At the time restaurants and lounges were limited in the area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the very helpful, kind staff!

The decor is nice and the staff is friendly but my sheets had a stain, it was very noisy at night and rooms are tiny, not worth the price.

We enjoyed the hotel and its amenities: great coffee shop, helpful and pleasant staff, nice rooftop bar. However, the neighborhood is not great. Hopefully, as things return to normal, more gentrification will occur.

    Nice stay for a night

Nice hotel, very friendly front desk, location is good if you aren't bothered by homeless. I did not have any problem and enjoyed the proximity to the city core and the river walk. Snug room really really snug but fine for just sleeping. You will not be hanging out in your room. Shower was really nice. Good for one night but any longer and I think I would opt for one of the other hotels in the area that offer larger rooms (>115 sq ft) for pretty much the same price. Great hotel option but may need to lower rates a little.

Hotel itself is very nicely decorated, staff was friendly. Surrounding area was definitely affected by covid and protests. We didn’t walk around at all but just decided to stay in the hotel since it was just for a night. Tope upstairs had good food and drinks with lovely atmosphere!
