The stay is pleasant enough; the on-site (off-street) parking a bonus. The location is excellent if you’ve just done a full day across the Spirit of Tasmania, or are about to travel early morning—it’s literally 3 minutes drive to/from the terminal (you don’t hear much noise).
Being conscious of the usage of the free WiFi (once you locate the codes—they’re outdated in the welcome book), it felt like we shouldn’t be using it, given we’re advised watching a movie will shape the speed. I can understand that some guests may try to take full advantage though, hence the request.
The one main problem we found was from a lack of power points in order to connect a CPAP machine. There is one under the bed, but is fairly inaccessible, so we had to sleep at the bottom of the bed in order to string the cord from the other side of the room. A simple solution I’d suggest to management: a shortish extension cord from that power point.
The chairs doubling as a hanging wardrobe is a brilliant idea, but the front legs of those chairs *really* hurt (from getting up after trying to access the under-bed power point)...are the front legs necessary?
I didn’t want to make this sound like a list of gripes—the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make this a pleasant stay and it shows. The rates are quite fair. It’s obviously a labor of love, as well as a nest egg investment, one they can be proud of.
For those just scrolling to the end, here’s the summary:
I would stay there again.
