The Aloft in Langkawi is a great property with a decent fitness center, a large outdoor pool, ample free parking, a very large breakfast buffet spread, 2 bars and most importantly, very very friendly and professional staff - some of the best we encountered in Malaysia which is already some of the best we've encountered in any country.

Decent hotel in Langkawi
It was the trip for my wife’s birthday, we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The staff put birthday decorations in the room and left a birthday card to her which is sweet. Everyone working in the hotel is so nice and friendly, they always has smile on their faces. The buffet breakfast has plenty of choices. Swimming pool is nice too. The only thing I would complain is the problem with ant - we know that we should have clean the desk after we had snacks, after a while a group of ants appeared…

Was given room 811 which FACING to coming noisy kid with swimming-pool – then offer on room 527 with almost NO Seaview Reception guy told me all room not facing swimming-pool-upper floor was sold out but …. somehow, he could find one room left room 827 but will cost 100 RM EXTRA per night // which is really NOT acceptable …. PAY APX 30 CAD FOR something we already had paid. We had ask for a quiet room away from Swimming pool so why even think to show us ...I still wonder why I have to pay 100RM/30 CAD EXTRA for a little bigger BALCONY (with NO PRIVATY) – I do NOT mind to stay with a smaller balcony – but I was told that EVERYTHING WAS SOLD OUT – even I check-in just when open 3pm. When the hotel could NOT offer the room, they said we paid for (small Balcony) at least if they give us a better room (827) was they said why CHARGE EXTRA. Next day I was at reception to discuss why to pay ...and was told from Manager “Chia” they listen to my point and will let me know ....No one ever call us or send mail that some mistakes and we do NOT have to pay extra ...First on the day we left in the morning we saw somehow the charge was gone .....Very strange service. No infor-No sorry or ? WILL never come back. Warning to others be sure YOU are not extra charged.
