This trip was a nightmare from the start. From the pictures (and the price) this seemed like a really nice hotel in downtown Miami. As soon as my family and I arrived, we had trouble located the front door to "The Guild" Hotel as there no sign or pull up front door to the lobby to drop your bag....none of that. Instead there is a sign for a coffee shop, which apparently is the lobby. After seeing a half naked homeless next to the front door, I went inside to ask if this is "The Guild". A young lady, by the name of "Angel" was at a small front desk and asked Iif I was checking in. Since it was only 1:30 PM, I thought we may have to wait but possible check-in a little early. "Angel" in a rude voice, beneath her Covid mask, said, "check-in is at 4:00 PM." I responded by saying I understand that but most hotels let you check in a little early, especially if you were an out of town guest, which we were. "Check-in is at 4:00 PM". Angel then let me stand there for 10 minutes while she played on her phone, before explaining to me that she could not check us in until 4:00 PM. Once 4:00 PM came, my family and I returned to check-in, Angel packed up her belongings and left as she was "off-duty" and directed us to another employee to check us in. "Angel" was a horrible representation of "The Guild and should not be in the hospitality business at all. We found out later that, "The Guild", is a residential highrise apartment building that rents out some of the units to visitors.
