Trinity Trails Ranch is 24 acres of forested land located in the heart of Texas. The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla just 70 miles from the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife.
The custom cabin design is an open plan and includes an outdoor porch with ceiling fans and a spacious screened in deck that overlooks the forest with glimpses of the lake ( best views of the lake are Fall and Winter). It's a peaceful place to sit out and star gaze and observe the night sky.
The property is adjacent to the corp of engineers and allows for easy access to the water.
The locations is attractive, as it is away from city life, it's that getaway destination most city folk crave. WiFi, is available to keep you connected but is somewhat limiting. The lower level contains a spacious great room with a queen size sleeper, full size coach. For entertainment we have board games out door games and ping pong table. The first floor bedroom sleeps 2 with the full size and is next to the bathroom. The views from the living space are amazing you get a panoramic view of the forest. The porch has large chairs to lounge and an outdoor table. Our cabin was designed to enjoy the beauty of nature bringing nature indoors and inviting our guests outdoors.
Both second level bedroom have queen sized beds for extra guest we have daybeds/trundles and both have access to the outdoor balcony. The bedroom closest to the bathroom has direct access to the bathroom . The bathroom upstairs is designed to accommodate multiple users with its 'Jack and Jill' layout allowing separate and private use of the tub, lavatory, and loo.
The balcony faces west towards Lake Aquilla allowing spectacular views of the setting sun, a perfect place to listen to the wildlife at night. The Foosball table is located on the balcony so it's also a great gathering place.
We often get asked if we have a fire pit, the answer is YES. I call it a Texas sized fire pit, a great place for story telling and marsh mellow fixing (please keep the gooie stuff outdoors).
We also are asked if the house next to the cabin is for other renters. No, it is an added space for those who are looking for additional space. If you have a large group, this is an additional RENTAL space please inquire.
There are lots of opportunities for enjoying nature and native wildlife. You will see animal tracks and an occasional arrow head. You might hear cow mooing at a distance, they belong to the neighbors and make for a wonderful photo, proof you were indeed away from city life.
We do have a canoe and a kayak and life jackets for those that enjoy lake adventures.
The lake has opportunities for boating, fishing, and for hiking.
We have added a circle rock garden, great place for a quite time or meditation. Come sit under the trees and listen to the music of nature or the quite whispers of your soul.
