In need of a lot of improvement
The room I stayed in was in desperate need of repair, with controls missing on bathroom radiator, ill fitting window frames, cracked electrical socket and holes in the wall where a curtain rail had been removed. The skirting boards were dirty as they went behind furniture as were the sockets, the shower screen fittings, light fitting in the bathroom and ceiling. The bed at least was clean and comfortable. Certainly not the standard of cleanliness and repair that I live in myself. Other guests ran about the hotel asking everyone including me for a 'rizla' I did not feel comfortable with this. I can only assume they had been placed there as temporary accomodation. I did not partake of breakfast. I had paid £45 a night for this room so expected a lot better than this, and heating when I needed it, not 8pm to 7am. I felt like I was staying in a homeless hostel. The walls are not soundproofed and I was next to the shared bathroom (I was en suite) I was awoken at 6am Sunday by slamming doors, 4am another morning and could not retire before midnight for the loud talking, slamming doors sounds of others in the bathroom. The up side is that Charlotte and her family are lovely and do everything to try and accomodate, this is not enough to overide the poor state of the rooms
I made a mistake when booking this accomodation. I do have photos and will happily share them with the host in order to assist with improvements. This review is designed to be constructive.
