The best thing about Baywood is the view overlooking the bay. Otherwise, the accommodations are average and I believe overpriced for what is offered. That area of the Eastern Shore is rural and doesn't offer many choices, so you can't be too picky. But, the property feels tired and we expected more for that price. We didn't see a single staff person the entire time we were there. We let ourselves in and there was a sign taped to the door letting us know which room was ours. In the morning, we came down and breakfast was already cooked and sitting on the table. Then we let ourselves out. It felt like a self-service hotel.

We got in late but the owner was quite understanding and made us feel at home. Everything was clean and functioning. Next morning, the breakfast was very good and our host sat down and chatted for awhile. Very interesting local stories about the revolutionary and civil wars wars. The hospitality at this traditional bed and breakfast was top notch. The rooms were comfortable with a fantastic view of the water. The beach was accessible from the house. The host, Mike, was very friendly and prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning, so much that I couldn’t quite finish it. Delicious. Quiet and peaceful place to stay while you explore Cape Charles and the Eastern Shore.
