Location is good - about 5 minutes walk from the train station. Good restaurants on the street next to the hotel (especially Lobs if you like seafood). Initial impressions were good with the guy checking us in being helpful with info about the hotel and local area. However, there was what appeared to be a permanent shutter on the outside of the window which was closed and no apparent way to move it. On the last morning there was an electrical problem on our floor which took 3 hours to resolve which meant we was in complete darkness apart from the torches on our phones. Only once power came on and they came to check our room did we then discover there was a open/close button for the shutter by the bed but this was not labelled in any way and was not obvious that it would be for the shutter! Room was quite small but well set up. Initially looked fine but once there for a few days the poor finishing of the decoration became more apparent. Room clean when first arrived but not done very well over the next couple of days, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was poor quality. You would be better to find somewhere else to grab a breakfast.

Poor 2.0
This hotel stinks....literally!!
The positives: close to station and staff are friendly That's it.We had a very poor experience at this hotel. As you enter there is a smell of sewer gas at reception. This increases and engulfs you in the small elevator. The staff are trained to blame the city but after 25 years in the sewer industry, the building clearly lacks gas control that is standard in most of the developed world. The room did not have sewer odour at first but the bathroom did smell overnight. Room is too small to be classified as a family room. Queen and double bed only with 1 m between the beds and 600mm from foot of beds to wall(see photos). Hotel has been renovated but it's mostly cosmetic with no attention to the main issue of sewer gas control. Grout on tiles in shower and paint finish poor. We were booked for 3 nights but decided to leave after the first. Breakfast is adequate but not generous. If you are close to the entry of breakfast room sewer smell is present as it is through many of the common areas of the hotel. Free WiFi is a joke. It does not work in room 401. I had to stand in the corridor to use WiFi to book another hotel. The room has no furniture other than beds, there is no tea and coffee facilities. The window is shuttered ( this hides the view of the air conditioner.) We sought a refund due to unsafe and unhealthy sewer gas. This was rejected and they still asked for city tax in cash rather than card, other hotels don't. Don't ruin Florence by staying here. Exceptional 10.0
For the price, we were pretty blown away with how great this property was. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and then only about a 7-10 minute BEAUTIFUL walk to the Duomo and all the other amazing Florence sites. The room was small but clean. We had the 2 bed room for our family of 4. There was not much room inside to move around because the beds take up most of the space but, for our needs, it was perfect. We spent all of our time walking around and just used it for sleeping. The beds were comfortable and we all slept great. The included breakfast on the 5th floor was perfect too. Again, for the money, we were really impressed. Our checkout was at 10am but our train to Venice did not leave until 4pm. The clerk was happy to allow us to leave our bags at the hotel while we spent another day wandering around Florence. All for no fee. Even when we tried to tip him he refused and said it was his pleasure to be of help. Wonderful guy. 5 stars all the way around!

I was a little disappointed with this hotel overall. Perhaps I had higher expectations because it is a 4-star hotel and was well reviewed. We had just spent the last weekend at another 4-star hotel and it was fabulous. The location was very convenient from the train station and it was an easy walk to the mercato centrale as well as all the big sites. The hotel staff was also friendly and we were pleased that the room was available early ahead of check in time. The room itself was quite small, which is generally fine, and it was clean. However, there was a horrible odor coming from the bathroom. We think it was sewage vapor. When we complained, the staff seemed familiar with the problem and came up to fix it by running water for ten minutes. It only relieved the smell for a few hours before returning. We complained again; and again, they ran the faucets and covered the smell with scented sprays...relief for a few more hours...if I was staying longer I would have demanded another room but we stuck through the weekend instead. If it weren't for this large problem, I would have had very little to complain about.

This is can take 1 star at most , keep in mind it is downtown Florence . noisy no hot water , no place to put your bags or move in the room no desk no reception. Bad smell everywhere like sewer . It is not worthy for your time staff ride when tell them there are no hot water Also they didn’t wanted to give extra pillow or towel It is only for bed and location is good but too much money and keep in mind the stars means nothing in Italy . The hotel property not even worth 50 / eur a night and they charge 170 for us . They said no room available and there was lots of rooms are Bottom story is save your money and go only well brand hotel those kinds of hotels are not worth it .
