8/10 Very good
23 September 2018
Cool town, nice B&B, but some issues
The room was spacious, with a SMALL balcony looking out over a piazzetta with, sure enough, a picturesque old stone fountain. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was private, but it was downstairs, one floor down. Breakfast was okay, but nothing extraordinary: prepackaged-in -cellophane croissants and toasts (and cookies), cereal, a machine to make coffee, and sugar-sweetened juice “drinks.” Check-in was okay, but I had to really negotiate to check in before late afternoon. The main bummer was the WiFi NEVER worked. They kept saying it would (they were going to recharge the account, as I understood it) but, nope, it didn’t. The town itself is very cool, clean, and medieval. A surprising number of ex-pat Americans live there. Go have a drink or a bite at Orso Pasquale’s, a friendly place to meet people. Transportation is confusing and awkward if you don’t have a car; I hitchhiked there.
