Comfortable but basic b and b
Very comfy but basic room, tv in room, drinks facility outside, very good breakfast. Needs some minor maintenance - loose wc seat and missing basin plug otherwise fine. Very good value and close to city centre.

Nice wee family run venue. Rustic but friendly. Very reasonable prices.

Jewel of a guesthouse
First off, this is an old fashioned bed and breakfast or "digs" for those staying for longer spells. As such, there are shared bathrooms, just like in the 1960s! For a small fee, a cooked breakfast is provided. For the first time that I can remember I had to ask the landlord to reduce the quantity of food he was giving me each morning. You won't go hungry here. Overall, the best option is using the X55 express bus to/from Edinburgh. The coach station is within walking distance. The train station is a £4-5 taxi ride each way or 2 buses. For that matter, the town centre is an easy walk. A delightful stay.
