Missed the Mark for Us
We really wanted to like this hotel. We are NOT fussy Americans, and we had stayed in rooms on this same trip that were much much smaller than ours at the CitizenM,- rooms that were charming, delightfully funky and made much better use of the available space. Our room was a short, L-shaped corridor, adorned by a solitary piece of furniture other than the bed: a plastic chair. The sink and shower are on opposite sides of the corridor, a huge bottleneck. The area from the door to the sink and shower is simply wasted space- that’s where we kept our suitcases on the floor as no suitcase stand was provided. Our king bed was wedged into the far end of the corridor, with no room to walk around on either side. The sleeper closest to the window has a tough time getting out and has to crawl over their partner for nighttime bathroom visits. The only drawer space in the room is in the bed's base, very awkward for suitcases. The iPad that controls the room's features did not always work. Press as we might we couldn't get the lights to dim and turn off, or the AC to function. The sink was so small and the faucet so tall that we constantly splashed water all over the floor and counter. The staff we spoke with were congenial, professional and helpful. And the room was quiet, day and night.

Modern efficiency meets FUN
The hotel entrance is very unassuming at street level, but the check in - and where all the action is - is on the 7th (top) floor. The entire ambiance is artsy, sophisticated, fun, and inviting. Self check in on laptops is quick and easy, with associates there to help. The lobby/bar/restaurant/lounge/check in and out area is located in a giant 'L' shape at the top of the building with a skinny balcony all around that offers wonderful views of the City Center. My husband and I spent a fair amount of our 2 days there in the cozy sofa areas and soaking in the eclectic art and books that fill shelves from floor to ceiling. The bar staff was helpful and cheerful, and while the menu is small- mostly appetizers and lighter fare- the food was delicious and varied. The rooms are modern, functional, efficient, and fun- a 'mood' pad allows you to control everything from shades to lights to the TV, and if you select a mood such as 'Party,' the TV begins playing a musical color show while the shower lights (the bathroom is a curved frosted glass addition to the otherwise rectangular room) dance between several colors of the rainbow. Of course we then had to try ALL the moods - how funny! All over the hotel- in the entry way, rooms, elevator, on the 7th floor, and in the 7th floor bathrooms, are quotes, pictures, and little nuggets of wisdom and suggestions that get your attention and set the whole tone. We just loved it! Only complaint is that the bar is a little slim in its selection.

Great staff and cool hotel!
We stayed as a family with three adults and two children and we booked two rooms for two nights over New Year’s Eve. The check in was on the 7th floor and although there was some confusion about the booking, the staff was very helpful and we were offered coffee and hot chocolate while this was sorted. We had our room on the 6th floor overlooking the central square. The room itself is small but with smart storage and cool gadgets. Our daughter loved the mood lighting and generally controlling the room with the room iPad. The rooms in the hotel are slightly different in layout: our room was the same width as the length of the bed. The bed was quite high which means we could look out over the square while in bed. Bed was massive and very comfy. The location is very good: 3 mins walk to Tivoli which is a must if you are with kids. As we were there on New Year’s Eve, the hotel organised a cool party on the top floor, it was great! The strong points of the hotel are the living space and bar on the top floor but must of all the staff; they are extremely friendly and happy that the guests are around. This makes the hotel much better. Originally we were a bit worried that the hotel was too conceptual and a bit of a gimmick but the staff made all the difference. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.

Excellent Modern Hotel
When I booked this hotel I wasn't aware that it was brand new, which we were informed of upon arrival. Everything in the highly modern room was spotless as were the communal areas. We only stayed the one night and had planned to explore local places to eat but decided to eat in the hotels 24/7 canteen - ordering a curry each (vegan/gluten free) and it was delicious. We also came back later to the bar to order drinks - which they didn't have any standard mixers for, but they were able to give us complimentary drinks due to the mix-up. The queen size bed was super comfortable, the room was a good temperature all evening, the area was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. The room was highly modern, with lights/blinds/tv all controlled by an iPad. We had some difficulties with the TV but a member of staff came up and fixed it immediately. My ONLY criticism would be that the shower didn't seem to be very powerful - there was a movable spray handle/hose and the rain effect upper spray so I found it quite difficult to wash my hair given the balancing act with the hose and the drip drip drip of the rain effect.

Very Good 8.0
The design of this hotel is great, and I like the idea of a smart room, however our room did need to be rebooted because some things were not working via the tablet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful though and got our room fixed right away. My only complaint about the hotel is that there is really nowhere to store your bags, so they just sit in the middle of the floor. I was traveling with my mom and we were assigned one of the smaller rooms, we were told you can’t select the larger and that all rooms are the same price. It was definitely tight for two people with two suitcases and very little privacy. I think this hotel would be great for solo travelers or if you have very little baggage.
