Relaxing home base for visiting Lisbon
We arrived really late and were welcomed by a helpful receptionist and taken to a very comfortable bed and excellent soundproofed windows. Our room had a private balcony which helped compensate for the somewhat small but tastefully decorated room. The common terrace view was outstanding, and it was a pleasure to get to sit and drink your hot tea, coffee, or wine and look out at the neighboring hills. Breakfast was excellent with fresh oj and eggs cooked to order. On the street where the hotel is are several great restaurants, all worth checking out. And yes - Lisbon is a hilly city - be prepared!

Cozy Guesthouse
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent each morning! Our room was very big, clean and comfortable. It did overlook the terrace so it could be noisy at times if people were outside. The AC unit didn't work properly and the staff wasn't able to fix it. The location was in an interesting area, definitely off the beaten path and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. I think some of the other guesthouses have better locations. Skip Madame Petiscas, rude staff and nothing special for the food.

Nice place to stay, if you don't mind steep walks
Like any major city, rooms are small but Quinta Colina makes them comfortable. One of their excellent staff is always available 24 hours at the front desk. Daily breakfast is delicious and includes homemade sweets, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, yogurt, a small selection of fruit and vegetables, and made to order eggs. The most challenging part of the stay here is that the place is on top of a high hill. Expect to walk up steep paths and/or stairs. Alternatives to that are taxis if they’re not on strike; or Uber as long as striking taxis aren't blocking them; or the funicular at Ascensor do Lavra whose last run is at 7:55pm. Also note that the funicular does not allow luggage on board, taxi/Uber is the only option (when not striking). The window shades in the bathroom don't completely block from being seen through from outside at night when the light is on. One other irritant was the A/C would turn on and off every few minutes. Not sure how it's calibrated, but we found it disruptive. Despite this, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet location, but short walk to main areas
This hotel is where we started our first day in Lisbon. It’s locationed on a small, quiet street, but still a quick walk (maybe 10 mins) to Rossio Square and other main attractions...just make sure you are ready to walk up and down some hills! The hotel itself it’s newly renovated with nice decor and a small boutique feel. Main Pros: -Size of room and bathroom were big for European standards. -Everything was very clean -beautiful views of the city from our room and the terrace. -fresh squeezed oj in the morning was a nice touch. Customer service was good, however they seem a little unorganized at times, and we wished they would have given us more information about the hotel. There was a terrace with a nice view (we found it on our own).
