Cozy hotel in center of Leiden
Small and cozy hotel, just a few rooms at a very central location in Leiden. Hotel is in a historical building, so don't expect surgical cleanliness but rather warm atmosphere and a wooden staircase and floors that sound like a genuine wooden staircase or floor. Large room, good wifi, restaurants and bars closeby. In the morning the kind owner serves a nice breakfast at your table in the small pub downstairs, with plenty of choice of sweet/savory/fruits/yoghurt and excellent coffee.

Pleasantly surprised.
My room was tiny, but cosy, clean and pretty well-equipped(kettle, tea, instant coffee, hair dryer, shampoo, lots of towels). The bed could have fit 2 people, but wouldn't be my first choice. I'd say the room was freshened up a few years ago with some paint and new floors. The wardrobe provides good storage. Not the quietest, but about average for the area. My welcome was friendly. If you want to pay by credit card, then you pop over to a nearby hotel. Check-in is actually 3 pm, though my email from the hotel stated 2 pm. Watch out for the Dutch stairs. At least there are only 2 flights!
