Yes, of course book your stay here.
We booked this hotel for 5 nights and were glad we did! Situated along one of the city’s many canals, and a short walk to Rembrandt Square, with plenty of eateries and shops. Great site seeing local. The Flower Market, a 5-minute walk away. Dennis and his colleague, Diane, who work the front desk plus assist in the dining room (are very convivial) and go out of their way to ensure your stay will be a good one. The housekeepers also do a fine job. Our room overlooked a canal and quite picturesque. We had booked us a Superior Double Room, Annex Building, non-smoking and King Bed. With free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was cavernous, and the towels were nice and not scratchy. The bed and pillows are quite comfortable. However, the room located in the annex and the staircase was quite steep. No elevator in the annex, but one in the main building. We paid for the yummy breakfast buffet, delighted by the selections, and free the first morning. Outside we spotted this Egret hanging around. Dennis, as well as Diane, explained this female bird has been coming here to eat cheese for many years. All guests are advised not to get to close to the animal, as it is still a wild creature. Evenings in this area are quiet, and you can leave your window open without disturbance of too much foot traffic and noise. A visit to Amsterdam would not be complete without a stay at the Amsterdam House Hotel.

Unforgettable Surprise
Charming, beautiful, incredible view. Excellent service. Perfect central location. National Ballet/opera close by. A block from dozens of restaurants and tram lines. Quiet street overlooking beautiful canal.

The rooms are bigger than average for Amsterdam and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to show me places to go and suggested places to eat that were fantastic.

Great Hotel & Location
A great traditional hotel in the perfect location. Amsterdam House has a limited number of rooms which offers guests much better individual service. The breakfast was quite tasty with a variety of options and a “real” espresso/cappuccino maker. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had hot water for days. The hotel is also centrally located to all the best attractions that Amsterdam has to offer. I will definitely stay here on my next visit.

Do not stay here! Not safe!
My 18 year old son was robbed on the second floor of this hotel while asleep. Do not stay here. When he told the owner, he chuckled and commented "Expensive vacation". He asked to call the police and the owner said they would not come, you have to go to the station. With no money, passport, ID, credit card, glasses, etc. how was he supposed to do that or anything? The owner offered one free night, but why would he want to stay there one more second. Unacceptable!
