As loud as a factory floor, all night long.
I wanted to love this hotel. It's so cool looking. Great pub downstairs, etc. The thing that kills it is the noise. It's across the street from a market that has all night activities and deliveries. The beeping of trucks backing up is incessant, supplemented but the noise of things being dumped. (The pub itself gets kegs of beer slammed onto the sidewalk at 6:00 AM.) It was so noisy in the main room that I had to make a nest on the floor of a little space by the bathroom, just to get one more door between me and outside. The staff is super nice, but the noise makes the place untenable as a hotel.

Fantastic old-world pub/hotel experience
Visited London for 8 days and wanted to explore different parts of the city, but also was looking for a room-above-a-pub experience. Glad to find an excellent one! Cool neighborhood with some history around it, a quiet park down the street, and 5 min walk from Barbican underground station. Check in was at the entrance to the pub on the ground floor. Woman was extremely nice, I waited for a few minutes with a pint in the pub until the manager came round shortly to give me the key and explain everything-great staff. Property was exactly the cool experience I was looking for-ground floor pub brimming with old-world atmosphere, narrow steps up to the rooms, nice-sized space when I got to the room on the 3rd floor, large comfortable bed, dark woods and updated cool shower/bathroom area. Dinner at the pub was great, and was able to cap off each night with a pint at a sidewalk table before heading up to my room. Love this property and can't wait to stay here again, especially since the manager told me they are updating the rooms probably as you read this.

A London Experience!
It was such a lovely, interesting place. The staff was great and everything was really clean. It was so much better than staying in some cookie-cutter hotel. The snacks, drinks, and soaps were simply fantastic.

Fox and Anchor overnight stay
Great location and place to stay. My only quibble is the shower was not warm enough (i.e. luke warm) and the eggs and toast for breakfast were cold. If you cannot cope with stairs watch out. I was on the third floor.
