This hotel is EXTREMELY outdated. It doesn't fall under historic, just plain un-kept. We were there less than 20 minutes. Walked into our room and right back out. Really old comforters, air conditioners duct taped into the windows, broken wood furniture, and the list goes on. The impression when you first walk in is welcoming but as soon as you step onto the elevator it changes.

A Beautiful Historic Hotel!
The hotel is beautiful with antiques everywhere! We had a “corner” room with a curved window right where the rounded corner was. It was a perfect place to sit and drink coffee. The room even had a table and 2 chairs at that spot. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a claw foot tub. The hotel also had a casino on the first floor but there was no issue with noise. Each room or suite has a name on the door and ours was Pearl Buck. We look forward to returning to Deadwood and plan to stay at the same hotel.

Hotel is old and run down, though it is kept clean. Mattress was worn out and it as well as the pillows could use a change.

Management was excellent!
Very cool old hotel. Our stay did not begin very well. The AC was blowing hot air in our room the first night, so they let us sleep in a different room for the night and maintenance would fix it in the morning. We came back from an excursion to get ready for our engagement photos. I couldn’t keep my makeup on it was so hot in there. I went back down to the front desk, hating to be a pain, but the manager was on duty and was beyond helpful. He moved us into a suite for the rest of our visit, even moved our things for us while we were gone. I’m never much of a complainer at hotels and I was disappointed with the hotel at first, but the manager really helped change my mind about everything and we ended up being very happy with the hotel. They also have an amazing crab leg and prime rib buffet and a lot of newer slots if you’re into the gaming!
