    Beware of parking costs!
Friendly staff, beautiful building, and a great location. The junior suites with a terrace are great rooms and worth the extra cost. My only complaint was the cost of parking was $75 a day. That seemed excessive considering I was staying in the hotel in a suite. Even for Chicago it was a bit much. So prepare yourself for the extra cost or park around the corner for $35-40 a day.

    Best Hotel in Chicago
The Viceroy is a beautiful hotel in a great location that has everything you would want in a hotel. Thoughtful design, great service and impressive amenities. I spent a lot of time in the rooftop bar. Great views of the city! The hotel gym is the best i've encountered, very expansive. I am a business traveler and The Viceroy is one of the best experiences I have had in my travels.

    Boutique stay
This is a really lovely property—- very artsy, and very expensive!! Yes, we got a “deal” on hotels.com, but the parking was $75 per night!! The refrigerator and cabinet are well-stocked with snacks, drinks (alcoholic and non) — we didn’t use it. We asked for a lake view — and the floor to ceiling windows showed us a teeny slice of lake between the buildings! We had a minor issue with the room, which the front desk people rectified immediately, and gave us a price break for. They were very gracious. The staff and clientele were mostly young and hip — not very formal. The common areas were very pretty and the lobby is cozy.

    Good 6.0
    Not the Usual Viceroy Experience
I often stay at Viceroy properties and love them. I was really disappointed with the Valet at check-in, the "loading dock" area was filled with cars, so I drove up to the front of the line and parked in front to gibe him my keys, he informed me I was then "past the loading dock and he was unable to take my car from me" and made me go circle around the block and double park next to the fully packed proper "loading dock" just 2 feet back from where my car was originally. I'm only here one night for work and just woke up after a late check in last night to see there is vomit down the side of the toilet bowl from the previous guest. I don't even have time to call to complain, I have to pack up and leave for meetings but can't believe that was left behind.
