Fabulous Stay at Hotel Unicus Palace
The Hotel Unicus was in a great location, two blocks from the main square. The hotel was quite and the room spacious. The bathroom had a great shower, however I would recommend putting some shelving in for guests to place their toiletries. I liked the skylight but would have preferred a shade that didn't emit light in the morning. The spa was fabulous and the person who greeted us was helpful. I would have preferred the spa to open at 6AM instead of at 7AM and I also would have liked some weights in the work out room. The entire spa and hotel was immaculate. The restaurant had a fine selection of dishes and the food was excellent. I found the laptop in the breakfast room to be quite helpful and I didn't bring mine with me. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Fantastic hotel in great Krakow location
Wonderful hotel... modern rebuild... fantastic facilities...attentive and professional staff. Wonderful spa with pool, whirlpool and the salt dome unique to Poland. Incredible location near the historic old town but walking distance to the train with its modern rail system. Highly recommended

Very nice spacious rooms. Pool and hot tub in the spa is amazing. You couldn't ask for a better location to visit Krakow's old town. Breakfast buffet was great.

    Hotel Unicus Palace, Krakow
Great location but otherwise a let down -- not 5*
This hotel's location sure is its selling point -- it is in the middle of old town, very close to the old town square, yet the rooms are pretty quiet at night. However, this is by no means a 5 star hotel as advertised. We traveled throughout Central Europe in 4 and 5 star hotels, and this was the most disappointing one. Do not get me wrong, it is a fine hotel -- just way not the 5 star palace we were expecting to see after reading up on it. For Polish standards, it is way overpriced. Life in Poland is not expensive compared to other surrounding countries, so spending over $150 on a hotel room is a big deal there. We stayed at the Unicus Palace for 3 nights, yet our room was not vacuumed once. We had to request extra toiletries and such. The people at the reception are very young, perhaps students. Their attitude was not particularly professional. I asked for late check out which was denied -- we did not even get an extra hour. The room was *extremely* small -- the bed was a full size when advertised as queen, stuck against the window so I did not have a night stand on my side or room to walk around my side of the bed, really. It should be advertised as a 3.5* hotel because the service and amenities do not match the 5* class -- and the price should therefore be much lower.
