Very Good
San Ignacio Retreat
Our Cabin was spotless, the shower had great water pressure and new tile. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but my husband didnt agree. We had a great view from our hammock on the balcony. Very peaceful. The bar/restaurant was delicious! We had breakfast every morning, with coffee. Hand made Mozzarella sticks, mini beef tacos, and coconut shrimp were just a few of our favorites. All the staff was so helpful giving us tips on where to go, what to see and where to eat! It’s about 5 -8 cab minutes from the hustle and busses of the downtown area. The front desk is open late and willing to get you a ride. Overall we would stay here again!

Exceptional
Quaint, Log cabins with great surroundings
This was a nice resort, set back from the highway, so you feel you are secluded. You can't even see the cabins from the highway, and you can't hear the road noises either. The cabins are comfortable, and spacious. We had no problems with hot water supply, and everything was very clean. The grounds were lovely, and the cabins were mostly two rooms per building, so very quiet and private. The pool was not clear, but there was a lot of rain, and a huge group that was there the night we arrived, so I'm guessing normally it is nicer. The restaurant was great - nice, friendly staff, and good food. It was adjacent to the pool, so very easy to have a drink or snack poolside. This was a nice, clean place to stay. Also landscaped very nice with lots of flowers. It was nice to hear the birds in the trees in the mornings. The resort is just outside of San Ignacio, so very convenient. There is a great sandwich shop in town - Ko-Ox-Han-Nah. Hightly recommend for great food, and enormous servings. If you are looking for quality paintings or wood craft - try Orange Gallery just 15 minutes east of San Ignacio on the main highway. They have a wonderful selection, and some amazing rosewood items. We also did the tour to Caracol, but it is truly NOT accessible in bad weather - as the road is pure mud and slippery limestone up a mountain. Don't do it unless you go through tour company that has 4x4 vehicle, and the weather is good. The site is great, but getting there is hard.
