The Old Bell, High Wycombe
Nice place
The old bell is an old traditional pub the room price was a bit pricey but for the area this was good value. My room was very charming with all the exposed wood beams but was a bit noisy from the road traffic but this is just because it’s such an old place. The only thing which was a bit of annoying was the ouch button code lock on the room door apart from the great place.

Very expensive for the given quality!
This place charges hotel prices for a very mediocre above a pub room experience. For £95 per night there was no wardrobe, had to ask for a hairdryer and a fan as it was excessively hot with no provision already in the room and no a/c. I has to lift the sliding double glazing out of the runners and put it on the floor just to get my hand in to open the window (on a busy road). The toilet, sink and shower were not connected to mains sewage and so there was a soil muncher in the shower room. This obviously couldn't cope as the shower pan filled with water to the top to overflowing with only a few minutes use! Will definitely avoid this one in future even if the service by the staff was pretty good in the main.

The Party Pub !
First thing I will say about this is the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to get me some food even though I arrived late and the kitchen had just closed. I so wish I was staying here for pleasure and not business as the places was jumping ! They had a fantastic atmosphere with some sort of Mexican theme going on - sombreros and mustaches everywhere. Unfortunately I could join is as I had and early start the next day (and needed a clear head). I wasn't too pleased about the karaoke that went on past 1am but hey if I hadn't been on business I would have been that loud Elvis myself !
