not user friendly

not a real hotel; no outside signage; no house numbers; Google map only approximately locates property; locals (we talked to 4) do not know it; we walked around for half-hour in dark and rain and did not find it; manager was not present during stated hours, morning or night; no reception area inside. We stayed in nice hotel about 100 meters away (Les Oussailles). Next day, we discovered a resident of Aux Volets who confirmed manager was not around - his lair is on the 3rd floor in room #6 or 7, unmarked as reception. Too late to cancel reservation so we lost payment for 2 nights. Town of Aulus-les-Bain is high in Pyrenees, hour of tortuous driving from Niaux on scary mountain roads with continuous hair-pin turns and often one lane with 2-way traffic. You should have a good reason for wanting to go there.
