Thanks for a great holiday
Cute place. Perfect location. We had our own little private beach just a few steps away from the bar. The room had everything we needed. The air conditioning and ceiling fan kept us cool even in the extreme heat. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great vacation
First time travelling at Christmas. The weather and location were great but the staff really made the holiday memorable. Rolando and Audrey were always anxious to answer our questions and help in any way to make our ensure our needs and interests were met. Other staff were also friendly and welcoming. Although there is no pool we didn’t miss it with the wonderful beach and warm ocean right out front. Food in the restaurant at the hotel was delicious and we enjoyed breakfasts at the Buon Appetit restaurant. A great vacation spot for all ages. We plan to return.

Words cannot fully express....
Our stay at La Palapa was incredible!! The pictures do not do the hotel justice. We want the comforts of home but the authenticity of Costa Rica and that is exactly what we got! We were able to walk everywhere for dinner and entertainment. That was only if we decided to leave the amazing restaurant that is attached on the beach. The surf rental was wonderful and did such a great deal. We were able to rent the board for the whole week. We woke up, grabbed the board, and walked out our door onto the beach. The massage was so amazing that I got it twice. Just cannot express enough how pleased I am with our stay. Also, the security there was on point and I felt completely safe! If/when we return, we will absolutely stay here again!

Rolando was so friendly and made sure we had a great stay! We went on a tour to see turtles and also did a surf lesson. both were great experiences!

Lots of character and beach atmosphere
Location is amazing right on the beach with hammocks included! Upon entering, we had to walk through the restaurant/kitchen area with a leaking ice machine. Our unit had a loft which could be dangerous for children and was a little shaky for us older folks. A haller monkey entertained us one night! Restaurants and shops are steps away with all the music and night time entertainment you can want. There were families taking surfing lessons/surfing and those just swimming in the warm water. Tamarindo is a fun, busy, enjoyable town for everyone.

Great place to stay in the heart of Tamarindo
We visited Tamarindo during a lull in the high season. Honestly, this is an excellent place to stay that is right on the beach. There is a restaurant out the back door that can get a bit noisy, but it didn't have any negative effect on sleeping. There are chairs and hammocks in a private shaded area next to the beach and even a massage area as well. The restaurant has a long happy hour and the food is very good. Tamarindo is not cheap, but this hotel is a very good deal right in the heart of shopping, restaurants, and the tours that are offered at the beach. It doesn't have some of the more expensive amenities like a pool, but it has air conditioning, private off street and secured parking, and can be packaged with a breakfast included. The staff was very friendly and informative, but let us be as private as we liked. There are only a few rooms and they open out toward the beach, so it didn't feel packed in like bigger resort areas. It definitely had more of a local feel to it. There was even a family of howler monkeys that made there way through each morning. The canopy provided shade from the sun and a show as well! Yes, there are more luxurious places if that is what you are looking for, but for my money, this will be the first place I look for on my next trip.
