A Glorious Experience
This is a glorious experience! Luxury coupled with a truly caring staff. Samie, the woman who runs the front of the house is a marvel - friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, kind. She and the whole staff of Riad Fes Maya made our trip as special as it gets - and we travel a great deal! Thank you, Riad Maya Fes!!!

The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style and is very close to the entrance to the medina. The dinner in the restaurant is very good. The breakfast is also good. However, overall, the service is not very good. They failed to make a dinner reservation at another riad (not sure if it was really a mistake) and failed to provide a wakeup call. If this matters to you, there is only a bath; not a real shower. There may be better choices in Fes for the price. I would check.

Nice Hotel, Strange Circumstances
Great hotel beautifully remodeled. The staff was very friendly and over the top helpful. It was in the old city area so the doors had to be locked, coming or going which made one rethink the area around the hotel. I think the only thing that made me feel uneasy is that we were taken to some area shops on a tour provided by the hotel and they were very very high pressure. I would hire an outside agency or something. The other strange thing is they insisted on a trip adviser review before we left...as we stood at the front desk. Again, really weird.

Good value in a beautiful riad
Beautiful riad in a good location just outside the medina. The manager is kind and service-oriented. They provide hamam and massage, but the hamam smelled moldy so I didn't take one and a gentleman who had just received a deep tissue massage (called tonique in Morocco) said it was more a relaxing massage so I passed on that too. We took a guided culture tour which was disappointing. It wasn't anything you couldn't do on your own. Bedrooms are beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. The riad itself is gorgeous. It's clean and well kept and has an elevator. Recommended for a stay, it's a good value.

Splendid riad near Rcif Square
This 14th C riad was the home of a Pasha, and the owner has kept it beautifully. It is lavish in workmanship, fitted with gorgeous furniture, and, notably, has an elevator (extremely rare in a riad). We had the junior suite which was a good size, with two closets, a sitting area at the entrance, and a desk on the other side of the room with a large TV on the wall. The bathroom had a large shower and a toilet fitted with a bidet-like function. There were bathrobes, slippers and proper amenities (most riads provide only soaps and shampoos). Water pressure was good and the bed was comfortable (although it felt hard). One of my favorite things about being here was waking up to the beautiful colors projected into the room by light shining through the stained glass surrounding the windows. The riad is located next to the heart of the old part of the medina (square rcif). Service was good.
