The property is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating. The property is located approximately 7-10 minute walk into the main market area and popular restaurants. The spa is very relaxing, the breakfast is very good, and the place in general is relaxing.

I honestly can’t rave about this place enough. Before our arrival, the Riad arranged a taxi pick up from the train station per our request. The driver waited for us with a sign inside the station so that we didn’t even have to go look for him. After arriving, we were greeted by Anna. Anna is the sweetest person you will ever meet. The whole staff is, actually! Anna checked us in and told us all about the beautiful Riad. I mean really this place blows you away. It’s just BEAUTIFUL and regal! Anna told us the history and informed us about the spa and restaurant (more about this later). Hamid, another wonderful staff member, brought us fresh juice, mint tea and cookies. My son (3 years old) loved him! Hamid carried him around and showed him all the pretty things to see, kept him busy, while we drank our tea in peace. It’s little things like this that makes you feel spoiled. Anna, who spoke very good English, told us about the various tours that we could hire. We actually decided to do a private tour the next day since the place is so HUGE and crowded, it’s easy to get really lost. Having a guide helped us navigate through the Médina. In the evening, we decided to call it an early night and just admired the view from our beautiful shared terrace. We were brought mint tea and cookies as we gazed around at our spectacular view. Alyman, a wonderfully kind young man brought us our tea. He spoke very good English as well. My son loved him as well! He joked with our son and again,

    Cant wait to come back!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We felt so welcomed by our host I could have lived their for a month. We arrived after 6pm and had to jump right to our tour, and they prepared dinner for us and had it ready when we got back. It was delicious! On top of that, they had the masseuses stay to provide us the most incredible full body massage at 9:30pm! When I say this was an exceptional stay, it was! The room was like a magical fairytale, we felt like princesses. It was so clean, robes and all the necessities provided. The bed was so comfortable and so were the pillows! We had to leave early in the morning to start our desert trek and they sent us with breakfast to go. Truly the most wonderful hosts, and very safe might I add. Welcomed at the door by a bellhop who was so sweet and carried our suitcases to our room and prepared us tea upon arrival. We were provided a history of the Riad and some tips on touring in Morocco to keep safe. I’d come back just to stay here again.

I stayed in several properties while visiting morocco for a few days this past week. The Riad Maya was the top hotel that I stayed in. The service was excellent, the location was central, and the room was immaculate. It was not hard to find as we walked to a couple of other Riads that were harder to get to without a local “guide”. Ana was truly an exceptional hostess. She accommodated all our needs and our last minute changes with grace and always went beyond our expectations. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous. I stayed in a resort, high end hotel and another Riad. The Riad Maya comparatively was truly exceptional. Homemade authentic food catered to your dietary restrictions is hard to beat. With beautiful views from an elegantly appointed parlor to dine in, this place makes your stay unique and most of all relaxing. I will definitely being staying here again.

Such a mixed bag. Property is beautiful. But the energy there is very weird. Basically I feel their main agenda is to make money, even if it means doing things that are like less than above board. We learned from our guide (who we met elsewhere) that when they have clients stay at this Riad, the staff will not notify their clients when they come to the door. so if the guy does not have a clients phone number they’re not able to reach them. We figured out that basically they do this because they are trying to set up their own guides so that they can get kickbacks. We came to learn that the owner has a very bad reputation in the city. in addition, i believe a lot of the 5 star reviews are fake. The Riad has only been open for four years and it has something like 12,000 5 star reviews. The manager in charge pressures people to leave 5 star reviews when they depart. We saw this actually happen due to proximity of our room to the front desk I feel bad for the people who work there they work very hard and I likely are not compensated very well. Whoever the owner is I don’t feel they treat their employees very well. We have a much better experience at the other 2 Riads we stayed at where the staff was warm and friendly and we felt they were well taken care of. The Riad is very beautiful but I would not stay there again.

Very beautiful, built in 1359 and perfect renovation. Exquisite Islamic decor. Great sunroof, delicius meals, perfect location just by one of the entrances to the old Medina. Above all, the most professional, charming Ms. SAMA, always available to make you feel at home. Adivise to owners: Ms. SAMA is a rare pearl, make sure you give her a couple of great, highly educated, trained and independent assistans so that she lasts forever and your riad gets a perfect 10 overnight! She deserves everything. I will not hesitate to recommend such a great, welcoming place.

This one of the beautiful places compare to riads/hotels we have stayed so far in different countries. All the staff here in this Riad very helpful and made sure we doing good during our stay. Our room was super clean. The whole riad is so beautiful that we felt like we in a palace. The breakfast was amazing. We loved our stay of 2 nights here. We will definitely come back to this Riad whenever we will visit Fez.

    Nice Riad but far!

This is a very nice Riad with beautiful rooms and decor. We travel a lot and know much about how it works! The front desk at this Riad was only there to sell! She was not helpful in giving us any recommendations, from the minute we walked in she pushed us to eat at their restaurant which I thought I was very average! Also the location of this hotel is far from everything. If I ever go back to Fez I would stay somewhere else !

    Excellent Experience

The hotel staff were incredible. Samae was the head of house and clearly the best possible person to meet and greet; friendly and accommodating. The Riad is traditional, yet stylish and comfortable. However, the authenticity does allow for certain luxuries to be lacking; cool drafts and sound carries throughout the Riad. Our group made dinner reservations on the roof top restaurant, and were very pleased that we did. Luxurious setting and delicious food, coupled with incredible views. We had an amazing time and would without a doubt choose to stay at Riad Fes Maya again in the future. Thank you to the incredible staff for such an enjoyable stay.

Great location within the Medina. Very picturesque Riad with stunning architecture. Staff are personable and attentive, I have traveled around the world and I have to say this was by far one of my favorite places to stay. A true oasis.
