Needs a revamp
Service appalling, bedroom in basement! Stairs appeared filthy as though the areas had water damage. Bedroom was a pleasant surprise!

Great all round stay
The 12th lock was a lovely place to stay, Jacob checked me in and was such a friendly person. The rooms are really comfortable and well finished. The coffee machine was a pleasant surprise and the wifi was great. Really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. Great selection for both. Would definitely be back again

Very Good8.0
Hidden gem with a but....
I stayed here as it was local to the place I was working and there are a lot of good things about this hotel. Firstly the staff are great, the food in the main bistro was also very good and reasonably priced with a decent amount of locals also eating which is a good sign. The room décor is great, exec level rooms with good bathrooms and comfy bed. There is an outside bar / seating area overlooking a Lock which would be great in the summer. Main issue is it is very close to a railway line and if you were in a room on that side of this small hotel it may be a problem for you. I was on the other side of the corridor and it wasn't an issue for me..

Great if you are a heavy sleeper
First the good. It is a lovely place finished to a high level of specification, nice and modern and who ever designed the rooms was good. Outside the front is a canal and lock and it all looks tranquil and very nice. The only issue i gave is that there is a trainline at the back about 2 yards from my window in my case. Trains run until late and in my case one stopped right outside my window at 1:30 am to do some repair work - imagine diggers and stones being moved along with nice flashing orange lights for about 1 hour while you are trying to sleep.
