Beautiful Hotel
We had such an amazing stay here! The hotel is beautiful. We had a rough day of travel the day we checked in and the person at the front desk made us immediately feel welcomed and relaxed. The dinner we had in their dining area was also great.

History tucked away in a quiet street.
There is no room service or phone in the room (well, my room anyway). If there is an event, the restaurant will be closed. There is a Sainsbury maybe a 5 minute walk down the street and other places to eat. It is very quiet. Even with the construction and updates to the property. The beds are very comfortable. The room was very spacious. The staff was very friendly and professional. All in all a great place to stay.

This hotel is not our style &there for we didn't like it very much, it's victirian style. Also it was very very expensive. It's Al little bit far from the center.

Ok, but not great.
Advertised as parking available, but that’s not the case. Parking is a ten minute walk. Room are tired, iron mark on carpet, tile grout dirty. Excellent and helpful staff though.

Mostly pleasant stay with some issues
Pros - the bedroom had two large comfortable beds - staff were friendly - the décor in the room was nice - the location was excellent - the room was quiet - even my partner who has trouble sleeping slept really well Cons - due to ongoing building works, scaffolding prevented any view or natural light from coming in through our windows - possibly related to the building works, the water pressure fluctuated and at one point a powdery black sediment came out of the bath tap - the room was recently redecorated in a modern, young style not depicted online, which would not appeal to everyone - the fire alarm sounded twice during our stay; the second time was in the middle of the night and rang for long enough that we had to begin evacuating - during this evacuation, there were no members of staff visible to offer assistance - the alarm stopped whilst we were on our way out, but we had to get to the front desk in order to receive the all-clear - there was no telephone in the room - we were told we could ring the front desk from our mobiles but we had no signal, and on the morning of checkout the WiFi went down which meant we couldn't contact anyone outside the room These issues were minor but would possibly make a significant difference to elderly or disabled guests, or those with young children, especially having to travel to reception for any assistance.
