Great Place
I was very comfortable staying at Emmaus House. I felt safe walking in the neighborhood during the day and in the evening. Most major tourist sites are within a 20-30 minute walk. The entire staff are cordial, helpful, and easy to talk to. My room was comfortable and cosy. I did get a little chilly at night but they provided an additional heater to the radiator (Edinburgh can get a bit cold in April). Breakfast is communal and it was great meeting the other guests over a meal. I would stay at Emmaus House again.

Very comfy place to stay good value
Very comfortable clean place. The room was large with one double bed and bunkers. Old building but no problem with heat or water. Good location walking distance to city center.

We stayed here one night while our family was visiting Edinburgh (2 adults, 2 kids.) Place was easy to find, in a good location, and at a good price point. Our room was at the top (3rd floor) and there is no lift but we were helped by a nice gentleman who worked there and he took most of our luggage up. Room was okay but could use some updates. Staff there is very helpful and kind and helped us call a taxi to get us back to the airport. The room was a little small for all of us but it did have a bunk bed for our kids. There is no tv, or attached bathroom to the bedroom but the bathroom is a shared one that was next to us in the hall. We enjoyed eating breakfast with the other guests and getting to know them a little bit better. Breakfast was okay - a little heavy on the carbohydrates to my liking, though. There is a small garden in the back that my boys enjoyed. Also, you can use the refrigerator in the kitchen to store your food.
