Hotel Laghetto Stilo Barra Rio, Rio de Janeiro

This was rated as a four star property by Travelocity. This simply was not the case. It was more a three star. When I first walked in I could noticeably see a dirty floor. There was a broken window taped off with caution tape by the door to the pool. Half of the pool was shut down for the majority of my stay. The complimentary breakfast was skipped many times by me and my son as the options were less than appetizing. I remember my son pointing out that there were gnats collecting by the juices. Dinner at the restaurant took 2.5 hours. We only ate there one time as a result, of course. While at the pool I noticed that the male staff was extremely eyeing the female guests in a perverse manner and laughing with one another. The room was kept clean for the most part by cleaning staff. It is very close to the beach, but there is not a market close to the hotel at all so you are forced to eat at the hotel or the expensive snack shack like restaurants on the beach. Overall, very disappointment in this hotel. I will go to Brazil again, but would definitely not stay at this hotel again. This is a completely honest review.

Modern hotel reception good but that’s where it stopped. While breakfast was good and started at 6-30 the chef was still organising the breakfast egg station most days after 7am. In a 10 day stay room was not cleaned on 3 days having left the room at 8am returning after 5-30pm. Internet continually drops out and on one 1 day was out for over 12 hours. On a number of days no hot water in morning when showering, or room service failed to leave towels. Room was a balcony room over the looking beach when it rained doors leaked and room flooded. Mini bar hardly ever serviced. Despite complaints management only started to address service issues after the room had not been serviced for the third time

Staff was friendly, room was very cozy. Great view to the beach. They could improve the cleanliness on bed sheets. I found few tiny hairs and stains on sheets so I requested a change. I was happy the staff came inmediately and changed my sheets without hesitation.

this was an amazing hotel very well looked after cleanrooms excellent food and above all the staff were very friendly and very helpful we couldn't have wanted a better hotel betterstaff and better food fantastic stay right next to the beach the area was very clean and tidy and a nice place for a holiday I would fully recommend this hotel and this location.

Excelent new hotel. Across the street from the beach. Hotel is new and price was very good. Breakfast is also very nice. Only downside is that you basically need a taxi for anything. Nothing with walking distance except the beach.
