The Room Let It Down
We booked a two night stay in a standard twin room as this was all that was available; given the reviews we figured it would be ok, unfortunately we were wrong! The condition of the room was very unappealing and requires a lot of updating. The bathroom was tiny and shabby, there was paint flaking from the ceiling, and the room, although clean, smelt like it hadn’t been opened in a while. On that note, we arrived at midnight, when it was still 20+ degrees outside, walked the route to our room (which was by the services tucked away) and opened the door to staggering heat! There is no AC and when going to open the window, there is a note saying make sure the windows are shut when you leave so we didn’t feel safe to sleep with them open, we didn’t sleep anyway due to the heat so should have just gone ahead. The next morning we asked for a different room, as there was none we were offered a fan, which is something at least. Service was a bit hit and miss however overall pleasant. They managed to seat us for dinner when we asked right at the end of service which was appreciated. Breakfast is made to order, the sausages were amazing, the rest was ok. The view from the outdoor terrace was lovely as is the location. We were on foot so it is a bit of a climb to get to but ok if you’re of average fitness. There is a pool table, spa (too hot to go in), lovely grounds and plenty of parking. Shame the room let it down, on that basis I wouldn’t recommend booking standard

60th Birthday weekend!!!
I booked this hotel for my parents for my Dad's 60th Birthday. Now I didn't stay here but I know they loved it at this hotel and said staff couldn't do enough for them. They had a cancellation in the executive suite and asked if my parents would like to move rooms. After seeing the photos, the view was incredible. The room was brilliant. They had a meal there as well and said the food was amazing. All in all this hotel made my Dad's birthday and I can't thank them enough. Thank you!!
