Comfortable elegance on the edge of Kenmare
This is a refurbished country manor-type house that has been converted into a hotel. It is beautifully appointed and is a maze of long hallways and rooms. The overall effect is elegant and reserved. It is just on the edge of Kenmare town with easy access by walking to the commercial streets where the pubs, restaurants and shops are. The hotel has its own restaurant and a nice bar/lounge area. It is set on nice grounds with gardens and next to a golf course. It also offers lots of other activities and has a spa. Unfortunately, we did not have time to partake of any of these on our one-night stay. It is a little expensive, but would provide a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Old world charm; cosy fires; friendly staff.
We were snowed in, so this was not a typical stay - we did not get to see the local area. The hotel had an old world charm, with cosy fires and friendly staff. Main dining room only had tasting menu available, with a la carte menu in the bistro. Excellent wine menu. Overall, the food was excellent except for one meal in the bistro, where the steak was disappointing. Had to stay an extra night because of the snow and we were given a very generous reduced rate for that night.

Old style class and charm
Really enjoyable stay. Staff all excellent and very friendly, comfortable room and good quality meal. Lovely old building in its own grounds right in the centre of Kenmare. Kenmare has a number of good restaurants and bars and driving out of it you are surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland.

Beautiful hotel
Excellent service and fantastic Kerry welcome. Perfect location in centre of town while providing wonderful views of the gardens and Kenmare River. Very much and old style, old world hotel in the best way. Spa is very modern and high spec, especially the fantastic pool. The rooms we were in were very comfortable but the decor was quite tired and in need of a refurbishment. Not least the odd, 70s looking contraption in the bathroom with shaving and blow drying controls.
