Residenza Novella
Hosts very helpful and while the apartment wasn't ready at 2pm, helped store the luggage away so that I could go for a walk. Someone looking after the apartment was around every morning as they stored their cleaning tools etc. downstairs. It was not 5 star but neither was the price, so good value for money if you are on a budget. Great location 350m from Santa Maria Novella Station, off Via Scala which leads to all the major attactions. Quiet at night except people in the apartment above.

Budget accommodation with some drawbacks
We stayed in Apartment 1 (Novella). The photographs are reasonably accurate as far as they go but have been heavily photoshopped to show the apartment as being much brighter than it really is. The reality is that because of shutters, net curtains and very inadequate lighting (no overhead lights apart from the bedroom) it is very dark, to the extent that we found it hard to even read a book. General cleanliness in the main room and bedroom is okay but compromised by a strong smell from under the kitchen sink (partly masked by scented candles). The exception is the bathroom where tiles are cracked, grout needs replacing and there is serious mould in all corners of the very small shower. Location is convenient but not very pleasant but we got an excellent rate through Expedia which made up for the deficiencies to some extent, but I would not choose to stay there again. Not suitable for young families IMHO.

The apartment was amazing. The manager was a bit hard to get ahold of and the air conditioner was broken and they said they were going to fix it but never did. Overall a great experience. If you’re coming from out of country, be sure to call them ahead of time.

The worst in the world
It’s really terrible,we told that would come 16:00 to 16:30 but nobody open the door and I had to call again and wait for 10 minutes to somebody’s Come! I had two kids and next day when we Co e back there was no hot water and we couldn’t take a shower!!!! The room was really dirty and with so many cockroaches!!! I really hated of this apartment !!! I couldn’t do anything.

The owner runs a modest but clean spacious apartment in a most ideal location for train travelers through Florence He went out of his way to make me feel welcome and when my daughter and her friend joined me they were so pleased with our accommodation Please ask him for recommendations for dinner and order the cheese wheel pasta at the ristorante... over the top delicious without over the top prices! My mouth waters thinking about it
