Amazing stay at Panan Resort!
The hotel was amazing from the moment we checked in we were greeted and our luggage was taken. We were upgraded because of our honeymoon and were able to check in early. The room and facilities were very nice. The bed was super comfy and the shower was separate from the toilet! The AC worked great and we had a nice balcony. The breakfast buffet was very good as we have stayed other places in Thailand and theirs was the best. House keepers cleaned the room daily. The staff greeted us each time we walked in. The cocktails were a bit pricey when it wasn’t happy hour but they were amazing. The staff went above and beyond when we rented a motorbike from a company not related to the hotel. We tried to arrange an earlier pickup and the owner didn’t answer. The staff called all morning and with no luck we decided to leave the key with the staff and asked them if they could collect our deposit of $3000 baht. We had a ferry to catch to koh Lanta and we could not wait around. The motorbike owner eventually responded and left the money with the hotel staff Nuch. She kept our money for us at the hotel and a few days later we retrieved it from her. The hotel made our stay a little less stressful! One improvement or suggestion would be to have a computer station for guests to print boarding passes or check the internet. I needed a computer to check my work schedule and this would have helped me a lot of I had that convenience. Close walk to Aonang beach (5min) & shops, thanks!

The staff were very helpful and nice . We were “upgraded” to a cliff view room with a view over the massive building site in front. This room (2508) was very noisy due to the building work starting at 7-8am every day and because of the location of this room you could hear all the noise from the strip until about 12pm. We asked to move but were told they were full and to ask the next day. No one wants to spend their holiday waiting until guests check out to see if there are any better rooms so we wore ear plugs. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious and modern. The beds were very comfy and the shower temperature was good. The shower pressure was quite weak but it wasn’t a problem for us. We had been contacted by the hotel prior to our arrival asking if we were a couple and if we were staying for a special occasion (birthday). They also asked about any dietary restrictions as we had paid for breakfast. I informed them that I am vegan and we are staying as a couple so it’s disappointing that we were given twin beds but housekeeping managed to put a sheet over to make it into one. I really don’t see the point in emailing prior if they disregard it. The breakfast was really disappointing. Lots of rice and meat. The only thing I could eat was fruit. It was a buffet breakfast but there wasn’t options like beans, mushrooms etc. The pools are nice but the drinks are very overpriced. There were no designs on the beds or any gesture for my birthday.

Overrated
You can tell if a hotel aims to meet expectations or exceed expectations. I stayed for 3 days to celebrate my husband's birthday, which i informed them in advance. And you know that they dont strive to exceed expectations when they dont even wish you or prepare something small in the room, which is fine - but again indicates the level of service. So did they meet expectations? The hotel and facilities did, but the people didnt. Here's why: 1. Staff forgotten to serve us cold towel while waiting to check in. 2. Room was okay however shower not working properly (water pressure too low with no hot water). They got it fixed the next day. 3. Bathroom towel with big brown stain and the safe deposit was not unlocked for us. 4. Unique pool but the water is cloudy with rubbish bottles and cans floating in front of our unit. 5. Asked the reception if they could help us make a reservation at the jungle kitchen restaurant nearby. The staff said they dont need reservations. But when we arrived at the restaurant they asked if we had reservation! 6. Asked for late check out as our flight is in the evening. Reception immediately turned down the request with excuse - fully booked. But online indicates TWO of the exact same rooms available (we stayed in a deluxe pool access room). We don't mind if they decline the request politely but they seem to create excuses. Apart from that, the hotel is at a good location - close to many eateries and walking distance to the beach

Good hotel could improve on service
Beautiful hotel with great facilities, but poor service. At check in we were never informed abou breakfast, it’s hours, wifi password etc, we had to ask about everything. The lady in reception was not very nice, and since she is the first face we see, it can be a bit of a let down in such a beautiful setting. Room service had not been to our room after a whole day and we had to request that they went to clean the room later in the afternoon. In beach areas, cleaning is a must since there is always sand and salt being dragged in. To note that the overall cleanliness of the hotel was not great on floors - the room floor even after cleaning felt a bit sticky; and the lift going to the room was covered in water and dirt from wet flip flops of people coming back from the pool. The rest was quite clean and well kept. When we contacted the hotel regarding airport pickup, we got generic answer of pricing and asking for flight details, even thou I had already sent that information in my first inquiry. Seems that no one actually read what I had sent and therefore I had to arrange my own transfer from airport to hotel. After checking in we received email back from hotel to confirm details for pickup, clearly nobody checked it because we were already in the hotel and checked in! Another suggestion would be to add ice creams to the pool bars, as the heat really calls for an ice cream!

A great hotel with a few minor quibbles.
Panan Krabi is generally a very pleasant place to stay. The biggest plus was the bed, which after 10 days of rock hard mattresses provided a reasonable level of comfort. And the Emperor size was great. The breakfast buffet was full of choices, but for some reason, possibly religious, they hid the bacon away and you had to ask for it. Disappointingly the restaurant is almost empty at dinner time, so perhaps a few promotions may help as the staff there are very nice, always smiling and helpful. In fact all the staff were great throughout our stay. Very good levels of english were spoken, and no request was ever too much. The main downside was that we could not get 3 rooms in the same block, although they told us they would be able to do this for us on the 2nd day. We never heard from them again about this, so for the 4 days we were spread across 2 blocks. Another minor gripe is the room doors. These do not close quietly, no matter how much you try, so late at night or early in the morning the sound of doors opening and closing was very annoying. Overall, this is a good hotel, with a staff that really tries to make your stay a pleasant one. We would be very happy to stay there again.
