    Great location on the beach
We recently stayed at Kira’s beach house and couldn’t have been more impressed. The room was exceptionally clean, breakfast was served fresh every morning and the location is ideal walking distance to many bars/restaurants. The staff was very helpful in recommending things to do and places to go. I would definitely stay here again.

    Very Good8.0
Kira's Beach House is a prime spot to stay in Tulum. The location is A++ and if this place had a "walking score" it would be 1 trillion percent. I was in Tulum for my friend's wedding. Some of my other friends were spending close to a grand a night to stay at Sonora which is only a few buildings up from Kira's. And their rooms weren't even on the beach side of the road. Yes, the uber upscale resorts hotels like Sonora have nicer amenities. But if you want cool vibes, friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast and awesome location at a reasonable price then stay at Kira's. If you have unlimited funds and you are super bougie... then heck you should also stay at Kira's. There is no shortage of expensive bougie stuff to do in Tulum.

Small, clean, nice help, no frills on the beach
Kira's was a very small and quaint place, only 8 rooms. There was no restaurant but they did make breakfast in their side kitchen in the AM. There was a restaurant in front, but they didn't own it and only open some evenings, no lunch or BK. Very well maintained on the outside, but our trip was filled with problems as the plumbing was really messed up. The shower heads would vibrate loud and violently. While they were trying to fix it, they would shut the power off all the time, and with it would go the internet. So, no power, internet, AC, or water for a couple days on and off. It was very irritating. If these problems didn't exist, the stay would have been much nicer. The manager gave us 10% off the room, but thought the discount should have been higher. Just so everyone knows, there are no TVs, no radios, no desks, almost no plugs for computers (mostly 2 plug w/o ground), no phone, no tub, no A/C during the hours of 6AM to 9PM (they turn it off) and we had a sign that said no toilet paper in the toilet. No fridge, no microwave, just a room, bed, bathroom (small sign said we can't put toilet paper in the toilet, SCARY?!?! where does it go??) and a couple chairs and drawers and lights. Hard to find an ATM that works in the town. They had bikes you can rent and I think swim vests. No ocean views from any rooms even while on the beach. The help were awesome. Beaches were beautiful, nice location to chill.

    A perfect family stay
Kira's Beach House was a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean and large. WiFi works well throughout the place and even on the beach. They serve a good complimentary breakfast. They have air conditioning and fans which can come in handy if you're not ready for a transition into humid heat. It's right on the beach with a great layout. You basically walk from your room to a perfect sandy spot. There are chairs and hammocks right on there, and a beach bar next door in case you want a bite or drink. They were incredibly helpful about any need. They have many bikes on premises. Whether you want to use this as a base to adventure or just relax for days on the beach...both are easy to do from here.

Nice place, but many little annoying things
The good: Great location. Close to lots other hotels and restaurants. Spacious room, clean, with large bathroom. Responsive housekeeping during the day. The bad: Kira's (perhaps mistakenly) tried to charge me $300 more than the reservation price upon check-in. I showed my confirmation email and they adjusted it, but just keep en eye out. They put us in a different, pricier room than we booked so perhaps that's why they were trying to charge more. Out of 5 days, we only had hot water for 2. Cold showers. Told them about it and they said they would fix. They didn't. On the second day one of the shower knobs came completely off and water was gushing from the hole (and the showerhead). Ran out and asked if they could cut water to out room temporarily so we could screw the knob back on and not flood the room and nobody knew how. The sinks also had some sort of weird angle that splashed water everywhere, even the floor, just for simple tasks like washing hands or brushing teeth. You get power all day every day, but AC only from 9 pm until 6 am. There are other hotels in this area with 24 hour AC. Would have been worth the extra $ just for that. They "serve breakfast from 7-10 am" but the only day we got up early to eat the cafe was still closed and lights out at 7:45 am. Didn't go back.
