Unable to use tub from lack of privacy
Hotel was decent but older in style. The big thing was that there were no curtains and even when the shades were down, they didn’t cover the windows completely. This wouldn’t have been a huge problem except that the jacuzzi tub was in the room in sight of the windows. We actually caught one person peeping while we were getting ready to get in it. There was also some weird white thing in the upper corner of the room. It seemed to be motion activated as whenever we were close to the tub, a red light would turn on. It would go off when we moved away and stayed still and then turn back on when we got close again. Between those two things, we never ended up using the tub. The room was close to the beach though and it was amazing so that was a plus.

    Great stay for our family
This was a family trip, myself and husband, our daugther and her husband and 2 kids. We love it here for the location and the amenities - like having a full kitchen, and the BEACH!. Two bedrooms in the same unit is very nice, because we can wake up and be with our grandkids for breakfast, make our own coffee and stay in our PJs! Our unite needed some updating. Beds are mushy, we prefer firm. The stove was so old and the burners weren't level, so the eggs slid to one side of the skillet... but we made it work! One burner didn't heat up at all. There is nearly no counterspace. There are limited pans and utensils (we knew that, so we brought our favorite skillet and flipper, and some plastic forks/knives along with paper plates, as there is no dish washer in the unit.) Bath towels are small, and we didn't have enough for all 6 of us... but we had brought extras of those too. The seating in the living room is not the most comfortable (a mushy twin bed with a trundle underneath, or the 4 wooden chairs at the dining table) -- but we were not in the room that much, as we spent lots of time enjoying the weather, the beach and the amusement park. Other families w/children there, so that was nice for our grandkids. A drawback is that there is a train track right behind the motel, so you'll hear the horn of the train until around 11pm, and it starts again in the morning -- but generally not through the sleeping hours. It didn't bother the kids-they slept through it!

    Local character but bring earplugs
The location is very convenient to restaurants and the beach. Free parking is adequate. Hotel staff is local and very knowledgeable--definitely a different experience than staying in a large chain. The room was a little funky in terms of bright colors and signs warning that smoking crack was not allowed (why was that sign necessary?!). Our room was on the first floor and there wasn't a lot of space between our room and the parking lot so it was a bit noisy. We also heard the train but any hotel in town would have that.
