Convenient.
Very convenient location. Disappointed by not being able to join bookings together and having to check out then take luggage to the coin lockers and then check in again in the afternoon.

Comfortable Stay
The hotel was located in a great spot. It was easy to find, clean and comfortable. I was disappointed that there was no human to greet us at check in, it is all self-service. Also disappointed that I was unable to have my 2 bookings, for sequential nights, joined so that we didn't have to change rooms. Also, had to check out, take bags to coin lockers at the station and then bring it all back to check in again the next afternoon.

Great hotel and location only 5min walk to train
Great hotel to stay at, but do not bother asking for help from the business office in the center of Kyoto. Shuttles only go in morning and afternoon and are very limited seats. I sent emails to book but was informed I needed to send to main email address and not hotels.

Don't want to give this a review because I want to keep this place for myself. Incredible for the price, location and overall experience!

Nijo Holiday.
Difficult to find originally as it has changed name and signage was still old name. No one on service desk, but phone available for check in. Other than that, rooms are excellent, clean and well set up. Free use of washer and dryer is a great touch. Close to the station, shopping and restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Efficient and IT savvy hotel
This was a fully automated stay, we didn’t get in contact with any staff at all, from check in to check out. All done via email instructions and passwords at main entrance, check in / check out via iPad and at room door. We stayed in the traditional Japanese tatami room style, need to clear the room tables to the side and roll out the futons at night. Also have to lay the bedsheets ourselves. An interesting experience. The futons were very comfortable. Toilet came with basic toiletries, hot water was a bit irregular and we couldn’t get the water hot enough for a soak in the tub, but for shower is ok. The hotel itself is a short distance from JR Nijo station, 2 stops away from Kyoto station, we changed directly at Kyoto station without needing to exit the gates. There is a ramen restaurant right outside the hotel, and a cheap sushi / 100 Yen shop just a couple minutes opposite the hotel. Sadly we didn’t have the chance to explore them. There is a mall connected to the JR station and a couple of convenience stores along the way, so easy to stock up on stuff. Only drawback about the JR is the trains are less frequent, especially in the evening, and going back to Kyoto station with luggage is quite a squeeze as the train is already pretty full coming into Nijo.
