Solo 1-night stay - primo service at the roof bar!
I was a little disappointed at some small things in the room. It just needs an update. To explain further, there were no drinking glasses, just two paper coffee cups, no ice bucket or microwave. The fitted sheet was a little ripped, the chair was missing a button and the headboard was pealing. All that said, the two ladies at the rooftop bar were absolutely fantastic and they were running so hard on a busy night, all with a smile. If I return to this hotel, Asia and Quay would be the reason to return.

Not what we expected
The room was very nice but the bathroom was sorely lacking. We had only 2 face cloths and 2 bath towels, not towel bar and NO SHOWER curtain. After one shower the bathroom was drenched and we had to use a face cloth to dry our hands after using the toilet. I had requested handicap accessible, I didn’t realize that handicap people don’t need to wash their hands or use a very slippery wet bathroom after a shower. We did enjoy the rooftop deck and bar so at least we received something after paying $32 for parking.

Loved our stay
The Graduate is a fun boutique hotel experience. I love the different themes through each one and the overall vibe. It was comfortable and clean with an updated modern feel. The breakfast spot inside the hotel was a bit pricey, as well as the fact they only offer valet parking. The rooftop bar view was great. The pool could have been cleaner. Overall I would book again and was a much better option than most choices in the area for a bit more money.

Not great
The location near VCU is great, however, the hotel staff was not helpful & the cleanliness of the room was unacceptable (there was dog pee on the floor). I was on the 5th floor and the nearest ice machine was on the 9th floor. It was a holiday weekend and the pool was being fixed. Considering the cost per night, I expected more.

Great Decor, Terrible Service
We’ve stayed at this property numerous times because of its affordability, location, and the amount of space you get for the price is great. However, this will be out last stay. The decor in the lobby is very nice, and aesthetically, it hits the mark as a “hip” hotel. The service is where things are severely lacking. This time upon check in we were put in a room that the door was falling off the hinges, the fan in the bathroom made an insanely loud noise, and the AC had a thick layer of disgusting dust on it. Once we complained, we were moved, but no offer of a coupon, discounted cafe credit, nothing. We noticed after day 1, our room Was not serviced. We asked at the front desk, they said we needed to ask for it (no one told us this when we checked in), so we told them we want service. Over the next three days, we were never serviced. I called downstairs to request toilet paper, it never came. Next, every time I’ve been here (4-5) there is something wrong with the pool; this time was the same. No pool for the duration of the stay. Even if it was open, they have really missed the mark there as well - no loungers, no shade - great pool that never works. The patio of the cafe downstairs has chairs with no cushions, which it’s designed to have, they are incredibly uncomfortable without. Management apparently thinks that’s ok. It’s unfortunate, it could be a great place to stay, but the lack of service and appreciation of customers make it terrible.
