Hotel is next to the train station and has easy access to food options inside the station. I booked it because it offered cheap parking. Upon check-in, I found out that the parking was full and had to find alternative parking and walked back to hotel in the rain. Room is small and may not work for people with large suitcases.

close to train station
One of my prerequisites is proximity to train station I was not disappointed !! It is literally a 3-5 minute walk As you exit JR Kumamoto train station, look to the right, it is right there ! Kumamoto Station is attached to a shopping mall (Anu Plaza ?) We did our shopping there, and the basement grocery store was awesome !! if you exit the mall, the hotel is even a shorter 1 minute walk we booked a superior room, it was worth the price the view was awesome ! room is clean, I needed a lan connection for my computer, and there was one, the wi fi was OK also there was also a complimentary breakfast in the morning, it was simple, hearty and filling,- great way to start of the day, hey its free !! my only con is the bed was a little hard, common for most japanese hotels would I stay here again, YES !!!

Very convenient hotel, near to public transports.
Very near to the train station & streetcar/tram stop. Breakfast spread was ok. One thing that they can improve is the breakfast area, maybe move it to another location as the current location is very inconvenient, being in front of the lifts where people are rushing in & out.

Pros: — The hotel is very clean and conveniently located next to Kumamoto Station — Staff are pleasant and helpful — Modest but very substantial a Japanese style breakfast — The city tram stop for line A is literally at your doorstep — Rental car companies are very close by on the west side of the Station — Nice food mall in the station Cons: — Mattress is very firm — Check out is 10 am — Check in is 4 pm — No English TV programming On balance, a very good value for money. I would highly recommend.
