Lovely time with a feathery surprise
Langley Castle was a perfect place to stay when visiting Hadrian’s wall. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and spacious. We found the peacocks that roamed the castle’s grounds to be a delightful surprise. There was a lovely lounge area to wait in before and after dinner with a connecting bar which we enjoyed immensely. One thing to be wary of is the pull out bed if you are in need of one. While the main bed in our room was quite comfortable, my daughter found the pull out bed to be uncomfortable and hard to sleep through the night on. Overall, however, we had a wonderful and relaxing time at a beautiful hotel.

    Langley Castle Hotel, Hexham
One of surprisingly few countryside castle hotels in Britain that still evoke and celebrate its heritage in its interiors and appointments, while offering the expected amenities of a modern day luxury accommodation.

    Authentic elegant castle hotel
Not the cliche hotel I was expecting.. you know what I’m talking about, the period costumes and over the top decor. This was authentic and beautiful. The dining and sitting rooms are tasteful and classic. The restaurant top notch. The room ( we stayed in the Josephine room) was well appointed, comfortable and large. Huge bathroom with lots of hot water and an enormous tub to soak were the bonus for us after a long cold day of hiking. We loved this elegant castle along with the attentive service and of course, the ghosts in the castle.
