Excellent, friendly, helpful, english speaking staff. Wealth of information. Lovely traditional style rooms, small but cosy. Only 2 showers but none of had to wait long. Close to train station, quiet location. Directions NOT helpful, only needed to say come out of north gate of station, turn left and climb the stairs! Would have saved us an extra walk in the heat

The beds were futons on hard wood. After 2 weeks of futons, we found it hard and uncomfortable to sleep. The lights out at was not respected as the light in the corridor kept being opened during the night. It annoyed my friends who slept on the top bunks where the light was shinning in their faces. We also had the bad luck of someone using the dryer at 4 in the morning. There is only 2 showers available for all the guest, so it can be hard to get one. The local area is calm but near a train station to get to central Tokyo. The staff was super friendly.

Our favorite stay in Tokyo
AMAZING hotel/hostel in Tokyo, and by far one of the best places we’ve stayed while on our trip around the world. It’s highly affordable, which can be hard to come by in Tokyo, and the 2-person private room we stayed in was clean and quiet. The location was perfect, because the neighborhood was quiet, there were two public baths nearby, but was only 10-20 minutes from most of the other major stations on the Yamanote line (including Tokyo, which is where you catch most Shinkansen trains). Lastly, the people that run the hostel are ABSOLUTELY lovely and helpful, with tons of information about the area.
