Hillcarter Hotel, Hartlepool
Good place for the money
Stayed for one night while away for work, hotel staff were friendly and helpful and explained everything fully about access and such, room was functional, decor was dated but I like that, adds a bit of character, bed was comfy and the room was clean and warm, wasn't disturbed by road noise either so always a bonus.

Not the usual Best Western standards
The hotels lift wasn’t working so there are a lot of steps to the rooms, it’s going through a refurb but the conditions are still to a poor standard , cold rooms and uncomfortable bed

Very tried in need of refurb
Bathroom was dirty, only one cup 2 make tea which was dirty n 1 glass in the bathroom which was also dirty. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Would I stay here again? Probably not was very pricey for what it was.

A decent hotel to stay at in Hartlepool.
The hotel is ok to stay at in the Town centre. The hotel has no dedicated parking but there is a large public car park behind it. The town centre is very quiet even on a weekend. The surrounding area is a little run down. On an evening, especially on a weekend the best place to visit for a night out is Hartlepool Marina, this is a 20 minute walk or a £5 taxi ride, pubs there are lively in the summer time with outdoor seating.
