Great hotel near the city centre
Hotel Number One is a great choice when staying in Gdańsk. The property is modern, clean and well looked after with lovely staff throughout. The reception area is decorated with lots of Christmas trees and festive decor. The room we stayed in was great, although we had booked for 3 one friend was an able to join so we had extra room, but not just another bed, we had a whole separate lounge area with sofas to allow us to have a great sized room with a modern interior, clean bathroom and comfy beds. There were a few things to improve on which would help make it a 5 star stay. There should be a safe in the room and a few more toiletries would be useful. You do get a refillable shower gel container in the shower and small vanity kits. There are a lot of plugs which may sound like an odd thing to mention but so many hotels never provide many and can be annoying when charging multiple devices. The spa area is nice but quite small and is right next door to the hotel. The breakfast is good, hot, cold and savoury options with fruit and breads too. There is no toaster though which should be added. The hotel is well situated to the city centre with a 5-10 min walk to get you to the centre.

Great location, staff and cleanliness
24 hour reception. Staff speak English and are friendly and helpful. There's a decent bar, pint of beer costs about 12zl. The place is immaculately clean and looks brand new. The room is fairly basic but very clean and spacious. TV has a bunch of Polish language channels, but also Netflix, which is a handy feature. Basic shower, no bath. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to check out the spa/pool, but it's free to use for hotel guests in the building next door. Location is good. 20 minute taxi ride to the airport and 10 minute walk to Old Town, where you'll likely spend most of your holiday.

Lovely hotel, not so great location
Hotel was absolutely lovely, location was a bit out of the way (not shown in description) and you have to walk through several building sites to get to the hotel, as well as through an underpass, which, due to safety some people may not be happy with.

Smart almost new hotel. Spacious rooms with good bathroom facilities. With a few extras it could pass for a four star hotel. I wasn't totally convinced with the staff at reception. They insisted on having a passport before providing a room key (packed in luggage) & when we wished to stay longer were told the hotel was fully booked. We missed one night & booked two additional days on line
