Good location
A night stop in Jerusalem, we enjoyed the location of this hotel, room was small but with comfortable bed. Bathroom very small, a bit old. Wifi works well.

Hotel Malka, Jerusalem
The room was small and poorly ventilated so it got musty after a couple days. We had a fire alarm go off at 3 AM. The whole hotel stood out front and called the manager’s number posted on the door and listened to it ring and ring. Some people smoked cigarettes, one woman called the police, the rest of us stared at each other and wallowed a bit. The alarm went off a half hour later due to, the best I could tell, divine intervention. WiFi didn’t work in the room. Great location.

Looked good but wasn't well run.
The hotel Malka is in a wonderful location and should be a wonderful stay. There was one wonderful staff member who treated us beautifully. The two other staff members were cold and disinterested. The coffee bar didn't open until after 9AM and we rarely saw them working. Our tour guide asked to use the bathroom and was told it broken. When I asked that they let her use it, they didn't have anything to dry her hands with. She was finally given a dirty towel. Our room was tiny and the shower was smaller. the shower doors continually fell off their rolling bar and the bathroom floor got soaked and dangerously slippery. We returned to the hotel from a day in the Negev and our shoes were sandy. The floors remained sandy for the rest of our stay. A potentially good hotel but was very short of the mark.

Great Stay
The hotel is a nicely remodeled older building where they left some of the old stone visible, which gives it character. The Staff was very nice, especially Eli at the front desk. The Owner, Yoram, is a really hard-working man. The hotel was very comfortable. There is no more of the construction noise that earlier guests complained about since the new hotel next door has been completed and is now occupied. The location is the BEST! It is right off of Jaffa Road, so it is convenient, but not too noisy. Plus, you can walk easily to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City, as well as many restaurants and shops. One warning, though, do not drive near the hotel after sunset on Friday nights only, for the time being. The hotel is next to the main police station and a large number of Orthodox Jews were protesting nearby against people driving on the Sabbath. There were loud protests which occurred near the hotel, including surrounding motorists who were driving on the Sabbath. Hopefully, this is a temporary problem only, which was primarily due to a member of their congregation getting arrested at that nearby police station.
