Arrived on Friday 26/8 to check in. Chose hotel due to location as close to hospital as partner had to have surgery and we’re from Coffs Harbour. Got told that they had received email stating my booking was cancelled. As I was distracted due to upcoming surgery and my partner having cancer - didn’t stop to question it. They then said they were full but could squeeze me in. Room want ready so I dropped my bags and went to hospital. Went back and to put bag in room. I had booked ANDpaid for a superior double ro with queen bed. What I needed up with was a cell with single UNCOMFORTABLE bed. Leaking toilet and had to ask for bath towel. TV didn’t work although staff member was very accommodating and replaced it. I left notice on door to clean room - it was still on door when I returned after hospital at 8:30pm and room not cleaned. They also tried to charge me for the room when I had already paid. Avoid staying here or be aware as they will try and rip you off.

We did not like the fact that we were on the second floor and had to walk up 3 flights of stairs, as we were in our 70’s & 80’s. We had a room for 3 adults and the room was small with not very much room between the queen bed and the single and our friend who was 80 fell trying to get out of the single bed and hit her forehead on the bone above her eye which bleed profusely and she ended up with black eyes. When we arrived at the hotel, the people who were just employed on reception did not know where our room was located so they allocated us a room on the second/ third floor. When I enquired at reception when we were leaving, I told the manager that I though we had paid through wotif.com but he said we had to pay him. When I arrived home I checked my bank balance and noticed I had been charged twice for the accommodation ($364.68.) I don’t think we will stay there again!

I work at a near by hospital, and the Hotel St Leonards is about a 5 minute walk from work. It a perfect distance from work. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and basic. Perfect for me.
