Excellent Location, Friendly Staff, Neat & Clean
This place is excellently located, very clean, neat and modern, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The only comment I would make is that people need to be aware this is an "apartment" hotel. What that means is that there no regular room service. In other words, no daily clean-up or fresh towels. On the plus side, our room had a kitchenette. If you want a place to stay for a while and explore Kyoto (and maybe more of Japan), this is it. Two blocks from Kyoto Station!

The hotel is an apartment hotel. I had forgotten that detail when we arrived. That means that there is no housekeeping during the stay, and the front office is open only 9-6. That really did not matter to us, but we were not expecting that type arrangement. Otherwise the hotel was very satisfactory. The room was small but adequate. The bath/shower was fine. There were additional towels and sheets if we needed them during our 6 night stay. There was a relatively large fridge which was handy. There was a stove and microwave that we didn't need. Also washer and clothes pins which we didn't use. Good quick elevator. Secure with card entry to the elevator and to the room. Only 3 rooms per floor, so little to no traffic. Very convenient to the central train station and convenience stores. It's not a luxurious or even upscale hotel, but clean, comfortable and safe. Pleasant office staff willing to help. Overall quite satisfied.

This hotel was conveniently located less than 10 minutes away from Kyoto station. It was also just across the street from a great ramen place (honke daiichi asahi takabashi honten) which typically has a decently long line. Since it was so close, we could go across the street in the morning around 9am for breakfast with no wait. The room itself was slightly bigger than other places we've stayed at near Kyoto station though, it was still small. Having a washer was nice and convenient. The apartment also rents out bikes for about 1,000 yen per day, which is pretty cool even though we didn't opt to take advantage of it during our stay. Unfortunately, I don't think the insulation was the greatest as we would often smell cigarette smoke creep into our room. I'm not sure if all the rooms are nonsmoking but if they are, somehow, smoke from outside was able to get in.

Great location, customer service
This location was perfect. It was a very close walk from Kyoto Station, and right across the street was an awesome pop-up market that only happens in the summer. We visited the stands therein several times in our 2 days in Kyoto, and had a great time. The hotel had great customer service, and were very helpful. The room is basically a small apartment, so it's not super spacious, but it had everything we needed. We needed to do laundry a few days into our trip and the in-room laundry was a lifesaver. It also kind of gave us the feeling of what it might be like to live in Kyoto. Great for folks who like to cook sometimes, but also to explore, and who might not need a luxury accommodation.

A great hotel for longer stays.
CMM Kyoto Ekimae had everything I needed for a longer stay, including kitchen appliances and utensils, as well as a washing machine. My room was clean and well maintained. The bed was a bit on the firm side, which I've come to expect from hotels in Japan. The hotel is very conveniently located near great restaurants, local landmarks, and the train station. I would definitely stay here again.
