Very Good
Historic charm, a few glitches
Our reservation was somehow not in their books on arrival, but the very helpful and accommodating (if a bit gruff) owner was very apologetic and found us a room anyway. Then the AC was broken, but promptly fixed the next day. Cool old building, two cute little swimming pools, great location, cold beer. Good for families.

Excellent choice all round
Fabulous location just off the main plaza. Your friendly host Gerry makes a great pancake and excellent strong coffee for breakfast and is a hive of information and very helpful with bookings. My room overlooked the main pool and was very clean, spacious and comfortable and had good a/c and shower. Look out for "Slim" as you enter the hotel. Hint: Check out Quinn's on Calle Arenal if you want to avoid all the hustlers on the calzada. Thanks and I will see you again Gerry.

Weekend in Granada Nicaragua
Our trip to Granada Nicaragua was great. First upon arriving at our Guest House the Casa Del Agua our host Gerry Webb greeted us warmly. We had the baloney room with a view of the pool. He sat with us and went over the local map on where and what to see. He arranged for our taxi with Hector to see the Volcano Santiago. He advised us on which restaurants were open and good. We could not ask for more. Oh, and the crepe pancakes in the morning are the best.

Do yourself a favor and stay here!
Casa del Agua has been one of the highlights of our year-long trip through Central America! The building itself is a beautiful example of Granada's famous Colonial architecture, with tons of charm and character. Our rooms (we stayed in two different rooms due to an extension in our stay) were clean and the beds were very comfortable, and we spent many hours drinking cold beers in the pool. But the best part of Casa del Agua is the people who run it. Jerry is a funny, sarcastic, super knowledgable Irishman who seems to know everyone in town. When I hurt my back jumping in the lake, he found a massage therapist who made house calls. He hooked us up with a great local guide for a historical walking tour. He had and endless list of restaurant suggestions that were all fantastic. And his daily pancake breakfast never disappointed (try them his way, with sugar and lemon juice!!!). Besides Jerry, there are several women working there who do an amazing job of keeping the place clean, well stocked, and feeling like a home-away-from-home. We felt like family from the moment we arrived and if it weren't for the fact that we have friends to meet in Mexico, we would probably still be there! We can't wait to come back with our family next year.
