We knew from other reviews that the outside of the house needed extensive work and was undergoing renovations. That was alright with us. We were disappointed with the condition of the inside. We know old houses are not easy to maintain and we did not expect perfection, however there was stained wallpaper and a hole in the wall in one room. The bathroom in another room had quite a bit of peeling paint and the carpet was very dirty in our guest room. The room was low priced so I guess we got what we paid for. The positive side of our stay was that the furnishings were beautiful and the food was EXCELLENT! Great baked snacks, refrig with wine and sodas, a wonderful breakfast with fruit, juice, crepes, bacon, quiche, & coffee cake. I am a clean freak so thought a better job of dusting could be done. Saw a few cobwebs. Location was in walking distance to several restaurants.

    Unique, historic, adorable
This mansion was built in 1883, and is super charming on the inside— it’s being renovated on the outside, but don’t let that fool you. I stayed in the former library/parlor, and there are many original details that are intact. Breakfast was maybe one of the best i’ve had- quiche, waffles, crepes, bacon and a different cake every morning. (Yep, cake. Don’t judge me; if the host is serving cake for breakfast, I will happily eat it.) Really unique experience and one of my favorite places that I’ve stayed. A little bit because of the cake-for-breakfast thing, but also for the neat surroundings and pleasant owners

If you love history this would be a great find for you! The owners talked with us about the history of the house and the area. Good places to eat within walking distance. Quite charming.
